Week 54 - Pursuit of Happiness

Who doesn't pursue happiness? Even if we have a really bad day, as the sun sets and the world rests for a bit, we tell ourselves that tomorrow will be better and try to seek the peace and happiness at least for that moment, with that affirmation. 😊

In the past, Dev has gotten into a lot of trouble by his weakness of not able to think beyond the moment.. But, it now seems that, it is the only way to seek happiness...in his sorrowful and lonely life! In his pursuit of happiness, Dev went to Sonakshi to ask her permission to take Suhana with him to his home, to his mom who wanted to spend some time with her. What struck me first in that scene was Dev's yet-in-tact regard for the Bose parents, especially Bijoy as he addressed him "Baba"..👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Sonakshi has long given up that regard for Ishwari and did not hesitate to address her as "Mrs.Dixit" and rightly so!

This fear or disregard for Ishwari is what made her prepare the contract, especially after Ishwari had come to the Bose house and challenged them... Although I totally understand Dev's position and his harmless attitude.. I think this contract will only do him much good, if at all, in future..I hope so. He just wants to genuinely be Soha's father, and for that moment, signing the contract is the first step. I really like how Dev lives in the moment only, without a fear of future or regret of past.😄❤️

Suhana is pretty much like Dev in her personality and in her seeking her mom's validation for everything.. I am really thankful that the makers have kept Soha out of the picture during the contract.. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I don't know if all other Indian shows are mindful of these things...about keeping the kids as kids. With her cute little bag, a cuter dimpled smile, and innocence as a child, she was ready to hold her papa's hands to go to her home, to her dadi, to the family that is dear to her papa. I will say a lot of "papa" for her, even if Suhana is not ready to say that yet..😉😉

The Dixit house was in celebration mode and decorated by the "good-hearted" people, including Ishwari in this case and excluding the Vicky-Maami duo...Golu is the charm of the "Dixit" family and his abundant love for his Big cha comes through scene after scene and its so heartwarming to see this love for Dev! Cake for his Big cha's daughter, his sister, Suhana was the best way to welcome her! Golu will be the one to teach Vicky and Mami about the lesson of selflessness and love. 😄❤️

Finally, it was also so good to hear those positive words for Dev from Eleena when she confronted Vicky!! 100% true words and its sad that she got trapped with Vicky..But its amazing how she pulled through in this family for so long..a girl who was such a rebel even from the beginning!! Its probably because of the genuineness which she saw in Dev that she decided to stay there and be a support to him. And I wish that she be the bridge in the gap that now exists between Dev and the Bose family! As fans of this show, I know a lot of us feel sad for Dev and pity his current helpless position and Eleena's talk was quite a medicine for our aching hearts! 😊

Ishwari's flawless happiness as she welcomed her grand daughter added with the joy of Golu and cheer of Ms.Beautiful and cool dadu made the Dixit house only sparkle more! and so, we can ignore that burning smell coming from the direction of Vicky and Maami.- atleast for now. Yet, Suhana overheard mami..and I am sure she has made an opinion about mami. I cant wait to hear what nick name Suhana will give the Ex-GKB
😂😂

Dev's attempts to keep everyone happy, irrespective of how he feels about it - is a trait that he was born with! The teeka for Suhana's sake and eating from his mom's hands for Ishwari's sake are just his ways of giving the moment's happiness to the people he loves. He never has an agenda behind doing these things... However, for people like Ishwari, this becomes a big piece of information in determining how much the person loves her! Well.. what can I even say about it? But I am extremely scared with her determination to somehow make Suhana "Bose" into a Suhana "Dixit"..😞😢

But let me try and live in the moment, like Dev, without fear of future, because I want to feel happy now, and why not? The little kids running around the house can make even the walls and floors and sofas look happy! 😄 Anyone, who had the experience of living in a house with little kids can relate to the happiness in the Dixit house that night.

Sonakshi's fear and confusion at this point is quite understandable. She has sent a part of herself back into the Dixit home...Coming back to Delhi, setting up her office close to Dev's, letting Suhana meet Dev and now letting her go into the Dixit home may all be the fate's plan..however Sona had a choice of not getting into any of this, but she let herself into this fully aware of the implications. Its because of the love she has for Suhana. Any parent will want the best for their kids. A dad is an essential relationship for a child and Sonakshi wants to give it to her daughter, not because, she cant handle being a single mother..but because, she wants her daughter to have everything in life..Suhana's happiness is Sonakshi's happiness and this phase of the story is about this mother-daughter's pursuit for happiness! 😄

The little flashback of Sona was just apt for that moment - I totally get how helpless she must have felt in the initial days of being a new mother.. Even when everything is perfect, life changes, the moment a woman becomes a mother... and in Sona's case nothing was right at that time.. I definitely feel sorry for all that she had to go through... In this society, a father's role is very understated when it comes to child birth. Dev had all the qualities for being that support for Sonakshi, but yet because of fate he never got to play that role! Sigh...

Well..lets not dwell in the past.. the present is God's present to us..💓

What a lovely time, Suhana had in the Dixit home.. Running around, playing with her brother, being pampered... everything that a little kid needs! It was such a pleasure to see Ishwari, mama, Eleena, little Golu and Dev enjoying Suhana's company... my own evil eyes must have fallen on the little girl that she got hurt... But the world's bestest father came to her rescue! I shouldn't be thinking this..but the time when Ishwari applied medicine for Sona's knife cut long time ago was what came that moment to my mind.. But I prefer Dev's table story. And I always believe that those daughters who hear from their dads that they are strong will grow up to be one!💪🏼💪🏼

Well.. however prepared we are for the storm, we do resist its effect in all possible ways, when we are in a storm.. Suhana being with Dev was a storm that Sonakshi had feared...and her reacting to the little bruise on Soha's knee was just that..Even though she knew fully well that Suhana is fine and Dev has kept his words, she had to show some resistance to let go of him, just like that... Suhana's rescue to her papa was the perfect daughter style rescue! Daughter's somehow manage to have that magical love for their dads and it was nice to see that magic, even if they met only after 7 years!👨‍👧

Even though the summer camp scenes that came later this week, made some really good impression on the viewers, my favorite part this week, was watching Dev missing his daughter after dropping her off with Sona... Whenever we return from my parents' house after a vacation, my parents and brother always tell me how quiet the house has become and how they don't feel like cleaning the place at all... Even if I go back after a year, I will still see the little stickers stuck on the fridge or the little scribbles of my kids on the wall still there.. and my dad never allows that to be cleaned.. Dev is after all the father of Suhana and this is her own house and the emotion that Dev brought out that night did not fail to bring the tears to my eyes.. I must look for new adjectives to describe Shaheer's performance.. Let me just say, "Shaheer, you are a splendid actor! you are enormously talented.. keep entertaining us!!"👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻

For some people, money is happiness and for others, relationships are. Those who run behind money, will in the end only realize that money cannot buy happiness.. and those who run behind the relationships will be the ones to experience the bliss that happiness brings! The camp will surely bring Suhana closer to Dev!

Dev is a handsome guy. We all know that.. The moms drooling over him is not quite surprising for us... But Sonakshi is clearly surprised and very clearly bothered about it! I noticed it..Dev did too.. Every time Dev flirted with the parents or teachers, Sonakshi's possessiveness quotient was on the increase!!  She really needs to work hard on keeping those emotions inside her... otherwise, she is sure to find herself blown away by the charm of Dev! 💘💘

From Dev's side, he had and will always love Sonakshi. We don't need any proof for that. Sonakshi probably is aware of that too.. But she is angry with him for all these years, because he was never able to express it enough, when it was most needed.. And in the past 7 years, she had almost convinced herself that Dev does not love her at all! It was so good to see the old Sonakshi peeking out to see, "is it really my Dev?"...as Dev expressed (to the teacher), that he is in love with someone... Dev of course meant her! 😉 There is really no doubt in me about his love for Sona at all. Whether he was/is/will be able to stand up for her in all circumstances and whether he was/is/will be able to manage satisfying his mom, while still showing his abundant love and care to Sonakshi - is a different story.

However Dev's only aim now, is to somehow impress Suhana and make her call him "papa" by the time the camp is over.. And in this journey, Dev also has a very capable "Junior"! The Junior Dev aka Golu, in his attempt to make a great impression about Dev, went on to even say that his Big cha got rid of all the dinosaurs and thats why, there are no more dinosaurs in this world! Golu's cuteness, his voice modulation and body language are just perfect and he captures our hearts over and over again! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Golu's exaggerated praises seem to work though! A long shot, but the ball thankfully went inside the basket. I think the Gods are on Dev's side now.. 🙏🏼

Apart from making Suhana call his Big cha as "papa", I think Golu also has a secret agenda of making Sona his "Big chi" 😊

The Summer camp to be continued next week. Sonakshi might be able to resist the handsomeness of Dev, her ex-husband. However, she probably does not realize that men look more handsome and more attractive when they become good dads to their children! 🤓🤓

Before we wrap up let me quickly touch upon Saurabh-Ronita. They are a very good couple! Ronita seems to be an extremely grounded, smart, intelligent woman - the kind that will fit with ease into the Bose family. Saurabh is a normal person with faults and goodness, both. While advising Saurabh, Sonakshi spoke about "Trust" and how Saurabh was so wrong in coming to a conclusion about Ronita, without talking to her.. Agreed.

However, I was not able to recollect when Dev judged Sona based on any assumptions about her.. Correct me if I am wrong! But even though its a fact that Dev did not stand up for her, when things went out of control.. he had always openly expressed to Sona, how he is eternally obligated to keep his mother happy under any circumstance..On the contrary, Sonakshi was the one who judged him and came to conclusions, without investigating the facts...be it about her infertility diagnosis, or slapping Bijoy, getting her family out of their home or even the prenup.. During all these occasions, wasn't she the one who made judgements about Dev? 🤔

Well, past is past and thinking about it and arguing again and again only spoils our happiness... The same can be said about future as well. I am extremely scared about what GKB's plans are...But worrying about it will not do me any good! This current moment is our life and to live this moment, is the only way to be happy...

Its Holi and what can be a better time to be happy!? Sonakshi spread the colors of love on Dev on one beautiful Holi day and Dev let himself drown in it, willingly. Sonakshi is his happiness and Suhana is the gift from God for their true Love. I am sure Dev's pursuit of happiness will be successful!

Week 52 & 53 - A child is born

Change is so inevitable in life. When a child is born, everything changes for the family. The priorities, the schedules... and every single person of the family has to adapt to the changes that comes with child birth 😊 Even though Suhana is almost 7, she was born only now for Dev.

It was a roller coaster ride for me to watch all 5 episodes of week 52 back to back! I don't know whether it was because of the roller coaster rides I took during my vacation or if everyone felt the same!

Dev is now a dad, not just Ishwari's son and not just Sonakshi's husband... Sonakshi is not just Dev's wife or a Bose daughter.. but now a mother of Dev's child... Ishwari is now a grandmother of a little girl of her darling son.. Everyone's roles have changed from each other's angle. Its almost as if these are totally new people yet with the same basic personality! However, the current situation that everyone is in allows only a controlled joy..

For a moment, the proposal scene flashed in front of me, when Dev told Sonakshi "I love you as a man loves a woman" for which Sonakshi asked him.. "Mr.Dixit, can you hug me please?" They have moved poles apart from that moment.. Whats missing right now, what Dev and Sona are resisting from expressing now, is that sweet vulnerability. A child's presence has the power to bring it back - I believe in this. I can wait for that day. I am in no hurry 🤓 Until then, lets see how our story's characters are evolving..

Dev

Dev finally found out the truth about Suhana. It took him a sad, hurt, heartbroken Eleena and some more time and effort before he found that truth. I wondered why he even brought Eleena in this equation..when he could have done it his way... Did he genuinely care for Eleena to be part of the Bose family's happiness? or was he just using her selfishly... We may never get an answer for this question, but we all know that he is a good man. His ways have been wrong, pretty much all the time.. but his intentions are always correct.

The moment of him realizing that Suhana was his very own darling daughter was very emotional for him, obviously. A feeling that a man usually goes through for 10 long months and then a few gripping hours at a clinic was pretty much experienced by him in just 10 seconds.. At that moment.. all I felt was.. Sonakshi and the rest of her family cannot compensate for the loss they have given to this good man. Shaheer, again nailed it with his trademark "dialogue-less" acting 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Dev might have overlooked the details of the birth certificate.. But I definitely noticed that the "Father's name" was empty and my heart ached for him! 😢 Suhana is not an illegitimate child.. She is the gift of the true Love that Dev and Sonakshi shared. She is the answer to Dev's prayers.. During the time when Ishwari was busy asking God why Sonakshi took away Dev from her and Sonakshi was pleading God to make Ishwari accept her as Dev's wife.. Dev was the only one that begged for the child that Sonakshi and his mother wanted..the happiness of his mother and Sonakshi equally.. nothing for himself... Thats probably why God answered only his prayers. ❤️

Dev's personality and character really shone brightly last week. He always respected and loved Sonakshi. The way he said "Sonakshi maa ban gayi" before anything else proved just that.. The way he recognized his being inefficient towards his duties of a husband was so honestly accepted by him when he said to his mom "main sirf ek na-kaam pati nahi hoon.." His happiness for his little Suhana was beyond his imagination because the six-seven years flew by in just a few seconds in front of his eyes... Ishwari, for the first time, showed some genuine happiness... An arrival of a child definitely brings about a change in the entire house.

I am sure that Dev must have been awake throughout that night only imagining the things his daughter would have done while growing up and probably even rehearsing what he would tell her the following morning..

I remember my husband and I talking to our children when they were born and I realize that it was a continuation of what we spoke to them when they were still unborn.. because the first introduction of parents and kids are made much before they are born..the little movements that a mother feels inside her first is very special... when she explains and shows it proudly to her husband, its a precious moment that happens only in that window of time and does not occur again and again..  For a couple like Dev and Sonakshi who were so much in love, its hard to believe that they never got to experience it all together,. And however much I try to justify that it was Ishwari's mistake that this couple separated..it was Vicky's mistake, Bijoy's mistake, etc... it all boils down to the decision that Dev and Sonakshi made. Everyone else is immaterial. They must have stayed strong.😒😢 This child deserves to be with her mother and father.

But, inspite of all the anxiety, I felt Dev was pretty grounded when he met Suhana, his daughter.. The way he fondly asked about her family.. and slowly bringing the topic about her dad was really sweet.. It was such a warm scene where the dad introduces himself to his little princess with abundant love yet with the need to be extra cautious of her changing emotions..

But the biggest heartbreak for him came much later... when he realized that his own dear mother was the reason that he was away from Suhana for the past 7 years!! When he learnt from Sonakshi that she had made an attempt to meet him and reconcile things for the sake of their baby girl, he really broke down.., especially after realizing that his mom was the reason that he never even got to know about it... Again, Shaheer as Dev performed extraordinarily brilliant in portraying the state of a helpless heartbroken man 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And Sonakshi did feel extremely sorry for him as well, I could see that.

I am proud of Dev and all the changes that has come in him in 7 years.. But the basic personality of him, the impulsiveness.. is still there. The sending of cell phone through Golu to school, dropping into Soha's room at night are all wrong ways even though his intentions are right.  Suhana Bose, who is the daughter of Ms.Perfect Sonakshi, is obviously smart enough to keep a check on Mr.Dixit's such impulsive acts. Sometimes, for the soft corner I have for Dev, I wish Suhana was not that smart and goes in tune with the impulsive steps of Dev! Sigh... but good for her she is this way. After all, he is a mamma's boy and must be able to relate to Soha being a mamma's girl! 😁😬

Much challenge for Dev ahead! A child calling her dad by his last name is probably something no dad would have ever experienced and Dev has to endure that as well! He must make his daughter call him papa in all its true essence. Dev is no doubt the best father. After all he has parented the cute Golu. And its going to be pretty easy for him to impress Suhana.. as long as there are no external factors coming between them 😊

Sonakshi

When a woman, especially a good woman is humiliated by her in laws the way Sonakshi was, then whatever she does to retaliate is definitely justified. Her relationship with Dev was constantly manipulated by that family and she was always under criticism and hatred for as long as she was there. Even though Dev loved her very dearly, he was never able to stand up for her in a way that the rest of his family will stop their mis-doings against Sona.😞

As I heard Sonakshi tell Dev that she attempted to come and meet Dev and forget all that had happened between them, I honestly felt bad for her. We could, for the sake of taking Dev's side, justify it by saying... Sona should have called again..told him somehow about Soha, etc. etc. However, a humiliation of that kind is not a trivial thing. It must have been very disheartening, hurting and embarrassing...But inspite of that bitter feeling, the care that she showed in her eyes for Dev as he collapsed in his chair unable to believe his own ears, was very touching. Very nicely done, Shaheer and Erica 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 That care carried on to the later scene as well when Suhana called Dev as "Mr.Dixit" instead of "papa". I could see in her eyes how much she felt sorry for him and wanted to console him. However, the fence they have created for themselves is stronger than the care they have for each other..atleast so they think..

At this point, Sonakshi's confusion has started... From Suhana's angle, she wants her to meet her dad and bond with him..She keeps telling Suhana "you can do what you feel like..." and tells Dev "She is our baby girl"." Humaari beti".. But from Dev's angle, she is extremely scared that he may separate her from Suhana.. and so she often reminds him "Soha mere beti hain.. I will not allow you to take her away from me.". Thats why.. when Soha told her that she wanted to talk to Dev, Sonakshi checked with her how far close she will go near Dev..she asked Soha "What if he wants to meet you.. will you go?" And I can completely empathize with her on this oscillating emotion that she is experiencing! If only there is a way to divide the heart into 2 exactly equal parts..so that Sona and Dev can both have their part..without the worry or fear of losing the whole..

The beauty of this show is the beauty of the characters. When Ishwari came in search of Suhana to the Bose house, Sonakshi did not deprive her of that happiness, nor can I visualize her depriving anyone of Suhana just for the sake of avoiding. Sonakshi is and always will be the strong woman with definite and good intentions and her ways will also be fair. If she seems arrogant, then so be it. That is the way to react to humiliation and injustice.

I did however find the activity class and afternoon nap, too dumb of a reason to stop Dev from seeing Suhana.. What if Soha doesn't go to activity class for one day or skips afternoon nap for one day.. I was telling my husband about it and he quickly pointed to me and asked me to try and remember how insane I was when my kids were young... Ya... I must confess.. I used to be rather paranoid about their afternoon nap and after school classes 😬😬

Sonakshi became a mother 7 years ago. So her life changed 7 years ago..not  just in the last couple of days when the truth has become evident to the Dixits. However, the new relationships are very stressful for her to handle mainly because she knows the downside and shortfalls of the Dixit household and she is unable to make a decision of how much she can involve Suhana in this - although she knows that she must be willing to share Suhana's life with them..

I am sure that Sonakshi understands Dev inside out. And feels bad for him and wants him to find peace in the presence of their daughter. But she has tasted the bitter medicine of being with the Dixits and does not want to go in that route at all. But how long can she hold on like this??

Angry and arrogant Mr.Dixit may not be able to win her over, but the charming Dev has the power to win her in no time. I cant wait for the Kuch Kuch hota hai themed Summer camp!! 😍😍 Is the camp in Shimla? 🤔😁😬

Ishwari

Ishwari is the most predictable of the whole lot. Her motives are always self centered. Meaning, not "self" as a person. In that world of "self" she has a few people only. Sonakshi was and will never be part of that world. Will Suhana be? I guess the answer to this question is "It depends".

The moment she knew that Dev was back to his old self again and is full of joy about his daughter, she was genuinely happy for him. But, the moment Dev said little Suhana had taken after her mother Sonakshi, she sulked. When she was introduced by God to the innocent Suhana, without prejudice, she adored her not knowing that she was her granddaughter. But ever since she came to know that Suhana is her granddaughter, she is hell bent on giving only the least of respect or regard for the fact that she is Sonakshi's daughter!

Ishwari very nicely talked about family being a plant and even though all the branches, leaves, flowers, may be completely different in the way they all look, its still one family and its the responsibility and duty of the whole plant to make sure the new leaf or flower feels at home.. That the whole plant will take care of the new arrival. What a nice way of comparing family with Plant.. However, I wonder why she never applied this theorem to Sonakshi.🤔😏 Why was Sonakshi never given that care which will make her feel at home.. Why was she always treated as an outsider only.. Ishwari was the reason that the beautiful flower Sonakshi failed to thrive in that home..even though her own prince Dev was right next to her..😒

Ishwari spoke about principal & interest and that Sonakshi (or the Bose family) succeeded in separating Dev from her (which is the principal by the way) and they wont succeed in separating Suhana from the Dixits (which is the interest). Although I will ask her to review her statement one more time as to who separated who... I was happy and enjoyed she challenging Bijoy!! Finally someone gave him a bitter medicine.

When Sonakshi came back to the Dixit house, seven years ago, Ishwari accepted that she had sent her away and that had she known that Sonakshi had Suhana at that time, she wouldn't have done that... So, if Sonakshi didnt have a child, Ishwari wouldn't let her in? Who is she, by the way, to decide what Dev wants to do with his life and wife? I wondered why Dev never asked Ishwari this question.. "Kyun maa! agar Sonakshi akele aathi tho kya hua..kyun tum mujhe bathaya nahi.." That makes me wonder how much has Dev even changed in the last 7 years..😏😏

By the way, I don't know if Ishwari realized it yet.. but she is in a soup now! (and so is Ex-GKB) If she wants Dev and Suhana to bond more, she is unfortunately going to let Dev bond with Sona as well whether she knows it or not, likes it or not!! And if she doesn't let Dev bond with Suhana, she has to be ready to see Dev die all over again, while still being alive!! And for him, this will be the third and final round 😢

Suhana Bose Dixit

Oh well..... And the cutie pie is exactly how Dev and Sonakshi wanted her to be. choti si..pyaari si..pari..tiny, mini Kharghosh. And Ms.Perfect, just like her mom 😊

How much this child has gone through these last 2 weeks.. A person who she adored a lot, turns out to be her own father.. She has so much confusion in her mind about how she must react to him and even how much she can love him so that her mother doesn't get hurt.. Dev went through a similar problem between his mother and Sonakshi..but then he was 28 years old at that time.. This little girl is hardly 7... And on top of all that, she has to also handle Dev's crazy acts! Not to mention the sudden change of equation that she has with Golu in school. Really, children have lot of tension too...

Suhana stole our heart right from the beginning, for the mere fact that she is Dev and Sona's daughter. And the first official meeting of Dev and her was as awesome as we can ever imagine! The sudden mood change that this little girl brought in her face as Dev started to say that he is her father was truly amazing. The little child actor supported Shaheer perfectly in that scene and pretty much in all other scenes thereafter! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻  This girl is a good find for the cuteness she brings. Her entire sequence with Ishwari and the rest of the Dixit family was like a breath of fresh air in that suffocating house! The smile with which she held Ishwari in the temple, is still lingering in my mind, because its one of the cutest smiles, I have seen on screen recently. 👌🏻👌🏻

What should Suhana do?

I have been asking this question to myself ever since this season started. It will be the best thing, if Sonakshi and Dev get together again for the sake of Suhana and happily live together ever after. Thats probably what Suhana wants too... But we all know that its not that simple. And I don't want them to reconcile too, just for the sake of Suhana. But time waits for nobody..She has stayed long without the love of her father.. There is no need to be deprived of it anymore, especially after knowing who he is and where he is...

And Sonakshi has given full liberty to Suhana to choose what she wants to do..But, its not that easy for Suhana to do what her heart says. How can she go to him, while keeping her mom and grandparents happy? Well.. he is still Golu's big cha.. her friend.. she can go to him just as her friend, just as Golu's big cha.. and thats exactly what she is doing 😄

Although Dev is just like she imagined about her dad..its hard for her to accept him in that role as someone that hurt her mom. She is seeing everyday her grandfather and how he cares for his daughter, Sonakshi. And its hard for her to believe that her dad is not like her grandfather. I think the makers made the perfect decision to take the story in this direction where Dev has to involve Suhana in his life, so she can understand his side of story.. It does not happen over night. Its a gradual process. Talking about children, they always say "Tell a child, she forgets; show her, she will remember; involve her, thats when she learns"!

The last episode of this week beautifully ended on the note of how "perfect" Suhana is! She is innocent yet smart and completely honest. "Hello, Mr.Dixit! How can I call you papa.. To me, papa is like my granddad.". Although I hate that Dev is being called "Mr.Dixit" and being compared to Bijoy - its a fact that Suhana has only seen Bijoy as the dad figure so far. But once she experiences the love of her own dad, this will change.

"I will not go anywhere without asking permission from my mom." - strong, honest little girl. None of Dev's impulsive tricks will work. He must do it only the "right way".

What will happen between Suhana and Ishwari is yet to unfold in our story and I think finally Suhana will be the person to bell the cat! Ishwari will not be able to manipulate with this little girl and has to tell the truth as truth. And Suhana is a child who is smart enough to guard her mom in all honestly. Ishwari has to come to terms with the fact that Sonakshi is part of Dev whether they live together or not. That a wife is the "Ardhagini" of a man.💑

Golu

A huge change has come to Golu too.... The only father he has experienced so far is Dev. The makers again have conceived this beautiful, very very beautiful role - Golu!! Golu is almost Dev's son, Dev's friend, Dev's Junior :) Dev gives to him, all that he never got to experience as a child. Although there is no emotional drama shown to us, between Dev and Golu, this relationship is full of emotions. Its beautiful the way its shown :) Golu's jealousy is very much justified and Dev recognizing it and promising Golu that nothing has changed between them is the cutest thing!

Golu now has the biggest responsibility of all. He must tell Suhana what a nice father Dev is and make her long for that father's love. And he must also pass on the message that Dev has a big soft corner for Suhana's mother, his big chachi. And that Ishwari, his big dadi, is not a really bad person. And even probably that Vicky, his dad has some evil plan!

This cute boy is a great find! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 All his scenes are my favorite, but the one where he prays for Dev with the "blowing off an eye lid game" is my most favorite. That, and all the scenes of him hanging in Dev's bed chatting away with him..😍😍

Its so heartwarming to see Dev share every bit of his day with Golu.. even the fact that Suhana is not calling him papa..

Its nice to see Sonakshi parenting the tiny kharghosh of Dev and Dev parenting the tiny Mr.Abhodro of Sonakshi
😄

One whole year has passed and the show is still as fresh as the first flowers of spring. Congratulations team Kuch Rang Pyar ke aise Bhi ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Week 51 - The lies and deceit

Big or small, important or not, out of fear or to preserve happiness... A Lie is a Lie. The cost we pay is huge and the loss we will incur is definite.

Ishwari's lies have already created enough damage to her and Dev's life. But, inspite of that she is only adding on to the account! Sonakshi has only one lie.. But thats a huge one.. What will it cost her? Only time can say that.

Before getting to the lies..

The week started with Jatin calming down Sona as if he knew everything about her and as if he is the only person that has any right on her 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻😡😡😡 This first scene surely put me off big time! I am very possessive about Dev and Sonakshi and cant stand anyone between them. Definitely not in the name of a prospective spouse.

In many ways Ritwik seemed better than Jatin...sorry Jatin fans. And however much Jatin flaunts his abs, he does not impress me..not even if he stands upside down..😬
😂 Well..one thing might get him into our good books and that is, if he gets Dev, Sonakshi and Suhana together by some means 😄 Towards the end of the week, he did seem like a good man. What he said about perspectives is very true... Even a snake has its point of view in causing harm...Thats why, none of us have ever been able to completely hate Ishwari or Bijoy or anyone for that matter.. All of them have their own point of view. And this conversation also got into Sonakshi's heart a bit.

Even though I say that I cannot completely hate Ishwari, I must admit how irrelevant her acts have become to Dev and us! What once made us say "awww... so sweet", now makes us only say "Oh! please..not again!!" I am talking about the memory chest she brought out to show her brother. Her sudden urge to go see her son (claiming that she is longing for her son and he is longing for his), although might seem to her as the same magical connection she has with her son..somehow has lost its importance in our eyes. All of her acts seem to be only aimed at one thing - to stop Dev and Sonakshi from getting together again..not even in their dreams.

Sonakshi is the dream of today's women who want to be independent and who don't want any validation from anyone for any of her decisions. She is obviously too much for Ishwari to handle.. But just as a reminder to Ishwari - Sona is what she is today because of the suffocation that Ishwari created between her and Dev. Sonakshi's assertive answers to Ishwari were exactly what was needed. Even though Sonakshi told that neither Dev nor Ishwari should really be concerned about her life anymore, she also clarified that Jatin was only a childhood friend.

If Ishwari was really sad that Dev was being restless..she should have cooled him down by telling all that she knows about Jatin and Sona.. But she chose to lie. For whatever reason it is, a lie is a lie. I still very clearly remember that night during the first few days after Dev-Sona marriage. While Sona was waiting  eagerly for Dev's return from work, Ishwari asked her to go up and rest and then told very conveniently to Dev that Sona was tired and wanted to rest.. Yes, its a small lie.. but it separated Dev and Sona for the next couple of days...a completely unnecessary lie. What she does now, is the same. Just twist the words and say a lie to her convenience.

How Sonakshi confronted Ishwari about this lie was one of the highlights of this week.. If truth is clay..Ishwari is capable of moulding it into any toy (ie. lie) that she wants...Unlike other shows the misunderstanding was cleared in just a couple of episodes! The dialogue writers again need a pat in the back for their excellent work. Every single dialogue is much much better than even top notch movies! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

But Sonakshi does not have a clean chit either.. for her to go around and give a lecture on "lies". She has the biggest lie for Dev.. She has deceived Dev big time! Its not a cup of coffee or a scoop of ice cream that you can enjoy without sharing with your spouse.. Its a child and the father has every right to know about it. Period. 😐😐

Ishwari and Sonakshi might point fingers at Dev also... "He lied too..." He lied about Sonakshi being pregnant, about her condition even prior to marriage.. But his intentions of those lies were different and selfless.. unlike what the women were doing now. Nevertheless, he reaped the loss of those lies. He is still suffering from its effect. But for those lies, he may not have even married Sonakshi or even if he did, things would have been different between the 3 of them.

You cannot hide any lie forever. Sooner or later things have to get clear and we have to face the consequences. Ishwari's already strained relationship with Dev deteriorated further... And the truth about Suhana is also going to be exposed soon... soon, I think..if the tube light above Dev's head finally decides to glow! 🤓😂

The two little kids bring a lot of flavor, cuteness and genuineness to the show. While the adults are busy manipulating each other and using each other's weakness... the kids are the only source of Sanity in this universe! 🙏🏼

Golu is the epitome of cuteness.. His honest possessiveness over his dear Big cha was such a treat to watch and his handling of it was straightforward and to the point! From the time, Big cha appreciated Suhana's assignment till the time Suhana and Dev became friends, Golu was totally jealous and extremely cute! "Kar diya na mujhe drop.. Ab kyoon beite ho? Aapko boring Suhana se love hogaya hain.. Aap mujhe drop karne nahi..use milne aathe ho!!" "Big cha sirf mere big cha hain..tumhara nahin..sirf mein unke saath tradition bana saktha hoon..." So articulate, Golu!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻 And.. not to miss the typical boyish "wiping the cheeks after a kiss"... Well done Golu 😄 It is sad that such a cute little boy did not get the love and care of his parents and had to find all the happiness in the care of chacha. Dev is this little boy's family.. Big cha is the little world that Golu and Dev built for themselves.. Its a beautiful little world. ❤️

Suhana is portrayed as a much mature person and I have always seen such maturity in kids who grow up with a single parent.. Its usually, as though they have taken up the place of the missing parent. Suhana's baby girl story was obviously her own life story and it was wonderful that Dev, her dad, got to hear her version of the story first hand. The background music was very nostalgic to us, as it reminded us of Dev and Sonakshi's proposal scene... "Mein aisi wali beti hoti tho"... was such a sweet way to connect the 2 hearts together during their first meeting..👨‍👧❤️ In addition to our desire for the Dad and daughter to bond, the music also played a great role in making that as the best scene of this week. There was a twinkle in her eyes as Soha mimicked her dad's "heart wins" action! Her dimple is really sweet and Dev and Sonakshi are extremely lucky to have a kharghosh as sweeet as Soha..❤️

As the week progressed Soha and Golu's growing bond inspite of the jealousy was a treat to watch. Ofcourse, Big cha had a big role to play in bringing the kids together. But in the process, it was hard for Dev to ignore his own growing bond with Suhana, inspite of she being completely unrelated to him (or so he thought!). Suhana's goodness in helping others, sweetness in talking, kindness in forgiving, thoughtfulness in health, smartness and intelligence were all familiar to him..They were all the qualities that he was mesmerized with, once upon a time.. and the background music only reminded him and us of the nutritionist Dr.Sonakshi Bose, who took over him like magic.❤️❤️

Dev and Sonakshi did not choose this life that they are living now... They somehow lost their path and drifted apart...If not, this beautiful, sweet girl will be theirs.. Such a profound thought came to Dev. True.. they drifted apart because of the jealousy, possessiveness, anger, lies, deceit of their own family.. 😢 And still, even after seven years, neither of them was able to forget each other and neither of them was ready for another relationship. Unlike stereotypic TV shows, the makers did not prolong the Jatin-Sona match making of the Bose family or the Dev-X match making of the Dixits. In a yet another wonderfully conceived scene we got to see the "Final and Stern" decisions of Dev and Sona. I don't know if Ishwari will get the message that Dev intended to pass on.. but I hope atleast Asha has reestablished the confidence in her daughter and her love after Sona told her final decision.. I am pretty sure Asha's new novel is all about Dev and Sona.

But what was Suhana's fault in all this? The little girl was even unable to draw her family, complete with her mom and dad...😢 The girl deserved to be with her superhero dad and her mom.
👨‍👩‍👧 The dad also equally deserved to be with his darling princess. Time has caused this tragedy in their lives. Yet, there is still hope.

Yes... there is hope.. if only Dev can crack the simple riddle of "Who is Suhana Bose". I think the doctor who gave the verdict of Sonakshi's only 7% pregnancy chance has confused Dev big time.. He is having such a hard time finding the truth... Let him take all the chance he needs.. Please don't question him, how come the Bose house has so many easily accessible doors and windows to every room..😂😂 He is a superhero.. he can do anything.. please don't question him about the Bose sir name or the striking and noticeable similarities that Suhana has inherited from Dev and Sona.. Let him just find out the truth in his own way and however long he takes is fine. 😂

I am only worried that Ishwari might end up in the Bose house along with Eleena, interrupting Saurabh's marriage proposal meeting..😢 Hope it does not happen.

Wrapping up...

Shaheer and Erica fit the role of Dev and Sona so well ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Dialogues are once again the highlight of the week ! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
The screenplay is a hero too and the parallels are plenty..if only we pay careful attention..
Sona walking down the stairs and Dev praising her beauty reminded me of the orange lehenga scene when Dev first felt his love for her!
The part where he asked Suhana "kya kya acha lagta hai aapko" reminded me of the monologue of Dev, the day after his epic proposal night!
There are tons of parallels like these.. you can take it up as a project for fun!! 😉🤓

-----

ps. I am going on a holiday next week.. I am very sorry that I won't be able to write anything. I am even worried if I can catch up with all the exciting episodes. You guys please make sure things are under control in the Bose and Dixit family 😊

Week 50 - Forever and Always...

Congratulations to team Kuch Rang Pyar ke Aise bhi for completing 50 amazing weeks!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

What can I say about this week.. Finally our heavy emotions is starting to find a passage to drain.. I felt myself lighter, brighter, happier as each day of the week passed by..And am sure every "true" DevAkshi fan felt the same way. 😊

There was no Paro..no Shruthi.. because, we are now talking about True Love.... True Love that never dies... True Love that triumphs... True Love for which everything else has to move and give way...❤️

The True Love of our story has many obstacles.

One of the main being the 2 families.

Well, not really the families, but Dev and Sonakshi's affection for their individual families. And their inner pressure to somehow protect their families independently...Both Dev and Sona, somehow didn't trust each other as much to let go off their own families. Its probably the case with the whole world. After marriage, we all somehow feel, we have given up a part of our responsibility towards our own family, in order to be with our spouse. And we try to make up for it in some way, all the time..

And in our story, Ishwari (and maami) never left a single opportunity to put down the Bose family. For Sonakshi, it was not easy to endure it at all. But she continued to do so.. until the point her Dev was standing with her.. That day of their return from Shimla, the moment she knew that Dev was against "her" family and is on the side of "his" family...her own protective reflex was triggered. It was very natural from her view, to take it upon her to protect "her" family...Reflexes are a matter of split seconds and you cant control those...She had no time to think that Dev would never slap her father or would never bring her family to the streets...

Bose family is not directly against Dev-Sonakshi relationship. But there are some things that bother me even from their angle.  I cannot give them a clean chit... We all know that Bijoy's hastiness had been one of the main reasons for the separation 7 years ago. Asha is probably the only "Sane" person of that generation in both families. She is probably the only person that understands Dev and his love for Sonakshi. And most importantly, she is the only person Bijoy and Sonakshi will heed to, even when their anger quotient is rocket high...With that power she had, I wish she had persuaded a little more in calming them down during that really dreadful night 7 years ago..Saurabh, the big brother was never really the "big" brother.. Atleast when things started to fall apart (all because of the help he got), he could have stepped up to say some things. Even today, after so many years, he just sings in tune with the rest of his family..I got angry when he said "Iss aadmi kya chahtha hain"

I talk about all these things now - because, this is the crux of Ishwari-Asha's conversation this week. Both of them were trying to heal the wound by covering it up... From Ishwari's side there is nothing that she can dare to cover up. But she had the guts to still expect Sonakshi to be considerate to her family and her son. Asha gave the right answers to Ishwari, quite assertively. But, she was also only washing her hands off of any responsibilities towards Sonakshi's decisions. Now its Sona's job, Asha cannot interfere.. agreed. But seven years ago, it was personal. And I somehow still feel she was the only person at that time, that had some power to set things right .. And to not inform Dev about Suhana is also not completely right...Asha surely left a few stones unturned. There is one more thing that the Bose family very conveniently ignored - the Prenup. Bijoy was a witness to how Dev reacted to the Prenup. If only he or Asha mentioned it to Sona, she would have thought about the signature on the prenup twice... she definitely would have.

But this Ash-Ish conversation paved way to introspect their roles... "You have done enough, 7 years ago..Now, Sona does not need your help" - Am sure this will keep Ishwari's mind busy 🤔🤔 "You never interfere in your children's life" - Am sure this will keep on questioning Asha if she did the right thing 🤔🤔 Hopefully these 2 mothers will get the right answers soon and move away from being an obstacle for this True Love to blossom again..

The other obstacle for the True Love is Dev and Sonakshi's possessiveness for each other.

We all know enough about Dev's possessiveness. Last time, his possessiveness somehow worked in his favour and helped him marry Sona. But this time, it has cost him his Love...Dev has always been respectful of Sonakshi's intelligence and capabilities (except the car driving ofcouse..😬😬). He has always given her enough space to be herself and grow. He has never shown his "male superiority" to overpower her in any way. But that night his possessive reflex was challenged by her choice of her family over him and his family.. The more she said "my family", "my baba", he somehow he lost his cool and said many things that he shouldn't have...not right. But we don't have control over our Reflexes.😞

Sonakshi loves Dev very dearly. Very very dearly. But she has never openly expressed her possessiveness...Had she expressed it, she would have defended him in front of her parents saying "Dev wouldn't dare to slap you baba.. it was a mistake". She would have fought with Dev and "his family" when he asked her to get out of the house! She would have confronted Dev that night and held him by his collar and would have asked him "How dare you sign that prenuptial agreement.. Don't you trust my Love for you.. Tear that agreement this second and burn it and prove to me that I am the most important for you..." And guess what, he would have done that, before she even finished her sentence - just to hold her again in his arms. Well... lack of possessiveness is also not good...😞

7 years later, Dev is still struggling to get over that possessiveness he has for her. Even if our relationship is based on "hatred", let me be the "only" person that hates you the most and hurts you the most. He wanted to rescue her before the earth quake hurts her. Ofcourse, his hatred for her is only a false fence that he made for himself, so that she and others don't see his crazy love for her.. Little Golu was the only one who can enter that fence to see the soft broken heart inside.. 💔

With Jatin's entry, Dev has to now work extra hard to keep his possessiveness under control. Dev has always been an impulsive person.. Although he has changed a lot over time, its pretty evident that he still struggles to keep his mind free of thoughts about Sona. He must hone his acting skills even more to cover up his true feelings for her.

7 years later, Sonakshi is also beginning to see herself shaken one more time by his power of Love. She still does not want to believe that he has the power to sweep her off the floor in a second.. But she cant deny that its happening! The floor beneath her shook not because of the quake, but only because of his presence. She wants to protect him from Vicky and his evil tricks (the income tax raid was really only to save him from bigger losses). She finds herself next to Dev the moment she knew he was in danger. She doesn't save him to be the only person to hurt him.. She saves him from everything that might ever hurt him. She has the power to fight even with God, if need be! Vicky is nothing. After all, she is a woman. And there is nothing superior to the "Womanpower" in this world.💪🏼💪🏼

She may not accept yet, but thoughts about Dev keep haunting her. Tall reminds her of him..handsome reminds her of him..funny, angry, strong, everything reminds her of him.. And to add to it, she is right next to him in office. Once you like Dev, its hard to let go.. He was right. She was not ok and she should also work extra hard to keep her mind away from him.

I am sure that these two hearts have started to realize the feelings for each other again.. Things will soon start to surface up from deep inside - things that they have hidden from the rest of the world.. Slowly, the fence they have created for themselves will break - the false bravado, the flamboyance, the "I don't care about you attitude", etc.

The other obstacle is the "Ishwari" component

There is nothing new about this. And if we start to talk about it, 7 years is not enough to finish it all...

But this obstacle is beginning to lose its power. And True Love will soon over power it. The dialogues between Ishwari and Dev were so apt that it hardly needs any interpretation!

Ishwari is not evil for most part. But 2 main evil things that she did that night - 1. flip of words - She said "Go to a separate house" to Dev. But to Sona, she said "You should get separated". When questioned, she casually told Dev - "Whatever I told you is what I told her".
2. getting the prenup - This act of deceiving, she did even before the marriage. But brought it up at the right moment, which had the power to separate Sonakshi and Dev.
For Sonakshi, these two acts together, was enough to convince her that Dev wanted separation...

From Dev's side - its a biggest disappointment. Biggest deceit. Ishwari still cannot openly accept these big evil deeds. She continues to act a faultless mother, and blaming Sonakshi for all that happened. For the past 7 years, Dev has distanced himself from her only because of these. He respects her even now as any son should, which only shows his goodness. She refuses to accept her mistakes, which only shows she is not a good mother.

However this week, we saw some open discussions in this matter. Ishwari finally said something that is completely true "For the past 7 years, you have kept relationship only with Sonakshi - be it a relationship of hatred!!"
And Dev's dialogues to Ishwari were just bang on "What are you afraid of - for me or for the fear of Sona getting into your life again? What is your complaint about her - that she did not fulfill her responsibilities as a wife or she did not die in the process? I have forgotten my love for her..but I cannot destroy the memories I made with her.." 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

With such open conversations beginning to happen, Ishwari has to, at some point accept her mistakes. Because, basically she is not evil.😊

The last obstacle - the real Evil

Mami and Vicky are the real Evil people in this drama. Its not a hidden secret. Its not hidden from Ishwari that their intention is only money. Its not hidden from Dev that Vicky is "useless" and Mami is "materialistic". However, they have never been questioned because they are "family".

What they did that night, especially Vicky, is still a hidden secret. Unless Vicky opens up, there is no way for others to know that Dev was not guilty (that the Bose house was snatched by "Ishwari communications"). Even Dev does not know that he is not guilty - because he was under the influence of alcohol that night.

Today, after many years.. Vicky's evil face is slowly getting exposed..one by one.. Its not going to be long before Ishwari can realize that forcing Dev to include Vicky in business was the biggest mistake she ever made!

Setting up goons to harm his brother is by far the cheapest act anyone can do..👊🏻👊🏻 But unknowingly, it only paved way for Dev and Sona to keep aside their masks and be themselves..even if it was only for a short period.

This evil obstacle will soon be shattered to pieces by the sheer power of true love. In that direction, GKB has already started to put some restrictions on Vicky.. Thank God, she does not want to harm Dev physically :) She took me by surprise..!

The Catalysts, the kids, the cute Golu and the sweet Soha

While the obstacles are getting out of the way, the little kids have the power to bring Dev and Sonakshi together.

Golu and Dev are best friends these days! While the rest of his folks only speculated the motive and repercussions of Dev saving Sonakshi from earthquake, Golu was the only one to simplify it.. While Ishwari was busy pointing out the mistakes of Sonakshi as a woman and wife, Golu was the only one to express the gratitude in a simple way. I can't wait to see Golu befriend Soha and take her for a bike ride with his Big cha.🏍🏍

Soha is the only source of strength for Sonakshi. Suhana is a replica of Dev in her personality and mannerisms and keeps the good memories of him alive for Sonakshi. So much, that, even though she has never seen her dad, the imaginary picture resembled Dev exactly! This connection that she has with her dad will only strengthen when they meet each other!!  Needless to say, she is going to be the biggest catalyst in getting her parents back together.😄

The high points this week:

- Shaheer's eyes. He doesn't need dialogues to express himself. I cant praise him enough. His eyes constantly questions Sonakshi.. "Why.. why did you leave me? Can't you see me dying for you?" Ofcourse the mask that he is wearing does not fail to show the false bravado! Every scene, every dialogue was a masterpiece this week, whether it was his scene with Golu or Ishwari or Sonakshi,  he was a show stealer this week! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍😍

- Dialogues. Already this blog is so long. If I start to point out the specific dialogues, we will only run out of space..Dev's every single dialogue with Ishwari, was bang on! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻  "28 saal bahot thameez dikayi maine", "Toh tumhari shikayat kya hain? Usne rishta nahi nibhaya ya jaan nahi di?" His interaction with Sona was so powerful "Dev Dixit mar raha hai..woh bhi Sonakshi ki bahoan main.." These as well as all the funny dialogues between Dev and Sona and between Dev and Golu were all quite enjoyable! The Bose sir name wali.. bahot khatranak hoti hai! 😂😂

- The screenplay. The way the scenes are conceived need a special mention. The whole rescue of Dev by Sona was very nicely conceived in a lighter vein, yet too emotional. Complex relationship issues are so aptly conveyed from the kids' angle. The screenplay is another hero of this show! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

- Erica - She brings about a very real, very strong woman of today. Her expressions compliment the power packed performance of Dev very aptly. Her underplayed drama makes her look real and very relatable.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

- Ishwari - Needless to say, this experienced actress brings about so much conviction to the grey shade of Ishwari. Her scenes with Dev bring the anger of the viewers to the forefront, rightly so.!!

Its going to take a while before the obstacles can clear and give way for True Love to blossom. Until then, the lead characters are going to be keeping their "I don't care" and "I care" mask on and off. The process will surely keep us glued to the show. But once it blossoms, it will be forever and always.

Week 49 - Dishoom.... Dishooom..with ❤️

Last time it was Shruthi that started the week and this time it is Paro..Next week.. who knows? Dev-Paro jodi is better than Dev-Shruthi..  Dev's charm seems to have no limits :) Paro must have thought.."Ma'm has to be insane, to leave this guy...." Really unimportant information. I know. I know. 😬

Sonakshi got back the home that she lost 7 years ago. Very commendable achievement by a woman in this male dominated society. It was heartening to see the Bose family cherish their golden days spent in their house. Our show did not show the difficulties that Sonakshi had to undergo in the last 7 years to achieve all this. That does not mean it was easy for her. I can definitely comprehend the hardships that she might have gone through and the happiness and a feeling of accomplishment that they all feel now, while getting back the same place again! 👍🏻👍🏻

Soon after that happy moment.. the face-offs started between our dear Dev and sweet Sona.. and it continued till friday and still not over! 😢

"Sweet" is a term usually used for a soft natured person.. And this sweetness is what is often misunderstood for weakness in today's world. Whether its a man or a woman, when we are sweet, we are just being used. It becomes rather necessary to let go off that "sweetness" if there is a need to show power. Thats what is happening in our show. 😐😐

A wall was put up to separate the businesses - but not with Dev's consent. As we know, there are emotions attached for Dev with this building. And it was obviously too difficult for him to put up with another person, another business, working alongside him - be it anyone else or even Sonakshi. Thats only part of the reason for his behaviors. The other part is obviously his love and possessiveness for Sonakshi.

I really enjoyed the carefree yet confident attitude he showed to Sonakshi, cutting her conversation off with style, very aptly every time. His presence of mind was at its peak on monday! The way he acted scared, laughed sarcastically at her and made fun of her half-cooked business knowledge was all quite "heroic"!! This Dev really suits Shaheer and he handles it with so much ease! From the way he walks to the way he delivers his dialogues, there is so much difference from the earlier Dev to this Dev. It almost seems like a different actor!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😍😍

Sonakshi tried her best to put up her confident face. But I am sure that she was taken aback when he withdrew that complaint and deprived her of "being the person that is fearless". Probably to recover from the insult, she concentrated a little bit more on showing off that day, which in turn irked Dev. The way she was inspiring not just her staff, but his staff as well, was definitely irritating Dev..

And this was only the beginning of their tit for tats!

You interrupted my phone conversation with Baba - I will interrupt your conversation with Mami. You call me an incapable Nutritionist - I call you Spineless! You take my pencil box..I will take yours... Oops..sorry that last one was meant for my kids..😂😂😂

Anyway, the irritated Dev wanted to teach Sonakshi a lesson on what will happen if she shared the office space with Ishwari Communications.... So, he locked the door from outside and went home happily! But promptly reminded/cautioned Sonakshi to not have any of her office staff break the lock as that will mean that his office space was being trespassed. At that time, even though he was troubling her, he trusted her and did not even think that she would have her hand on his office files. And to be fair to her, she did not do it on purpose also.

Instead of doing that, Dev should have just switched off all the lights. She would have come running outside...really. Fear for darkness doesn't go even when you get really really old. I am suffering from it, so I know! 😂😂

Anyway, while Sonakshi was trying to find a way to get out of the room without calling any of the staff to come and help and while Dev was anxiously waiting for her call and playing Ludo with his family - Lets quickly take a round on the rest of the cast!

Bijoy Bose has completely lost any and all of the respect I had. He can be proud of himself as the most straight forward person and all that. But, bad mouthing about her dad to Soha is not a very respectable act. His hasty conclusions was one of the reasons for DevAkshi's separation 7 years ago.  And he has not changed a bit.. only worsened. I thought, he, being a father, will understand Dev's importance in Soha's life. But.. No. 😡

Ishwari Dixit does not attract any sympathy at all..I hate to be rude to this genuine mother..But, inspite of the fact that Dev has gotten out of her cage, she insists on putting him back in it. Her constant reminders of Besan halwa and Raja beta will only take Dev farther away from her. I do understand her eagerness to see her dear son lead a happy and content life. But she must realize that happiness is very personal and is the responsibility of an individual, especially, when the individual is not an 8year old boy anymore. In addition to this, Ishwari's bigger problem is the enmity she has developed towards Sona. Sonakshi's perfectness continues to haunt her even after 7 years. Sonakshi's importance in her son's life is still unacceptable to her, even though she is completely gone from his life. 😡😡

Mama ji is now only Bhaiya ji. The "mama" has gone out of him and he is only able to see his sister's pain. But how can we blame him? He does not understand the story from the couple's angle and more importantly he does not realize that his wife and son are truly EVIL. 😡😡😡

Asha Bose probably holds a certain respect and regard for Dev still. And definitely still dreams about the beautiful love story that her daughter once had..Her quiet acceptance of the current situation is probably the need of the hour, especially with Soha around. Unlike Ishwari, Asha has always been a mother that finds happiness in her children's independence. And she continues to do that today. 😊

Well.. coming back to Sonakshi, she found a nice trick to get out of the office. And it was payback time for Dev's actions. Just as I thought that they both were now even... the income tax raid took me by shock. Sonakshi had apparently found fraudulent records in Dev's office while searching for matchsticks...and she had asked the income tax people to enquire about it! Not fair, Ms.Bose. Not fair at all...😒😒

As the week thus came to a closure, I was in deep thought as to why would Sonakshi do something like that. Does she love Dev even a small percent? Dev seems to have very strong feelings for Sonakshi still, you can see it in his eyes.. However, Sona seems very stern and has gone to this level of even affecting the business that he holds very dear to his heart. She has been showing true enmity towards him.

Dev also showed some enmity, especially by way of snatching her award and making the issues more public. That is still probably not as serious compared to depriving him of his own daughter and shaking his business.

I don't understand all of Sonakshi's justifications. However I do know how the world sees you as a woman.

Women have a grammar unlike men. She must not be arrogant, she must be a loving mother, she must be respectful of her husband and in laws and these are apart from the stupid rules even around what she must wear to cover her body. Anyone, who does not follow this grammar is almost considered a slut. Anyone who does not live with her husband is almost taken for a rebel.

From the age old days of Mahabharat or even before, till today, women are always looked down upon as the weaker sex. Only a girl who puts her confident foot front can be successful. Even once, if she shows her vulnerability, there are hawks outside who will capitalise on that one moment. Dev is not one of those. She knows that. But Vicky is..and there are tons of Vickys in the real world.

Sonakshi's actions are all her survival mechanisms to live in this society without a caring husband's "protection".. And right now, her husband himself is part of the society, not hers anymore. She needs that wall to protect herself from the world. I respect her.

To dilute the seriousness of the situation, producers have made a commendable choice, by adding kids to this show. The Golu-Big cha combo is capturing everyone's hearts and this duo only gets better and cuter every week.

The ❤️ surely exists. Don't worry viewers... Dev has abundant love for his Sonakshi and Sonakshi is only protecting Dev from Vicky. Others may not be able to enter the iron wall around her..But Dev has a pass.

Week 48 - Clarity

Lack of clarity creates chaos and frustrations in our mind and these emotions hinders in achieving our goal in life! However clarity in thoughts always guides our actions and a clear action takes us to a defined goal.

The week started off with Shruthi expressing her love for Dev. And Dev praising her beauty 👊🏻😡, but explaining to her that Love does not even exist. Even though its such an unimportant event this week, I am reminding that scene, only because it leads us to the moment when Sonakshi's "Clarity of thought" became evident to us.

For her, "Dev was never able to take any decisions on his own and lacked the courage to face the facts and respect the relationships he had made. She had made a mistake by allowing him in her life..and giving him the love that he never deserved.. Even the decision of getting separated from her was a decision that he could not take on his own..He was so much spineless that he had to depend on his mom for everything.." --- Very true from Sona's angle. She lost her 'Self respect' when she was with Dev and has it now, that she is away from him.

On monday, I realized that if I had known ONLY Sonakshi's side of story, I would have been on her side - hands down. Even though I am otherwise, a very feminist person, I have been on Dev's side all along, because I know his side of the story too...  Sonakshi's clarity came from the fact that Dev did not stand up for her even though he loved her. I was quickly transported to the time of Sonakshi's accident when Dev explained to her, how dealing with business is so easy compared to family and how he was trying his best to keep every member of his family happy always, but is never able to do that often times. Family is "ours" and we can never give up on any of them. Sonakshi had also once, mentioned how she was never able to be strict with her brother's eating habits because of the fact that he is "family". I  wonder, why a husband-wife relationship is often not taken in this spirit...especially in today's world.

Anyway - Sonakshi's side of story is quite convincing that she has no 'self-respect' in her life with Dev and its not worth fighting for, especially after he dumped her in no time, just like that 😢

When she had this clarity in her thoughts, all her actions were in pursuit of only one thing "Earning that self respect for herself and proving that she is no less than anyone else".  Everything else has taken a backseat.

-------

Dev has always been a child-like person. He does not manipulate in matters of family, even though he can do it pretty efficiently for business. When he realized that his family members, each one of them including his mother have been manipulating against him, he was quite devastated. Which is why, his true friend right now, is only a six year old child, who is innocent. The happiness he gets in interacting with a child is far better than interacting with an adult..any adult!

Even that night in the hotel, Sonakshi only proved this to him - Manipulation. If Sonakshi has a message to pass on to Dev, she could have said it on his face! Why send it through Shruthi? And that night ended with Bijoy's interference and manipulation as well. A police was not needed 😞

Dev's clarity of thought came through this week during his little conversation with his mother and I consider it as the best scene this week! Dev is very clear that his happiness is his responsibility and he is not going to depend on other's smile for it! It was one of the biggest life lessons that his mom and Sonakshi have taught him. He wants to do what he feels right. But, in no way, has his responsibilities at home been discounted at all. Because, he very well remembers that his mother separated him from Sonakshi only because of this worry!  All his actions are based on this clarity of thought - that he will stay happy. However, as Golu rightly pointed out - big cha was sad and his eyes are a proof 😒😢 The only happiness he ever wanted for "himself" was Sonakshi's company and he lost it in a matter of a few minutes...Inspite of his sadness that he was dwelling in, Dev lived his moment to the fullest in the company of Golu who has now become his best friend! 😊

This new avatar of Dev definitely has the ability to identify the weeds in his life. And he didnt hesitate to show Vicky his place! I had always wanted to see this power in Dev. After all, maami and Vicky are only living in his mercy and I always questioned his inability to question them. But this week, he got the stock market profit with style,  questioned Vicky's decision to sell property and clarified to him that he was just a "puppet" and even made fun of mami's BP - all in a filmy superstar-ish way!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

------

Of all things going on in my mind, I got clarity on one thing  - Both Dev and Sona set extraordinary parenting goals!! Even though Dev was parenting only Vicky's son, the quality time Golu got from Dev in ways of bedtime stories to playing cricket to going on a bike ride made him the  bestest fatherly figure! Sonakshi's honest, independent and bold advice to her darling daughter Suhana was admirable and inspite of her business pressures, Sonakshi never postponed spending time with Soha in contrast to Eleena and Vicky! Every scene was enjoyable. But I enjoyed the "Boys are from mars and Girls are from venus" advise to the little kids! Suhana and Golu bring us a new flavor of Sonakshi and Dev!

One more thing that was pretty clear to me this week - both Dev and Sona are mad and anyone who comes in between them is proven mad as well. Whether it was Shruthi or the police in the hotel or Vicky who sold part of Dev's office space to Sona - whoever came between them were all proven crazy! 😂

-----

We all know Mami and Vicky have one clear goal in their life and that is to become rich using Dev's money. Vicky was gutsy enough to sell the property that was given to him with lot of trust! It was no wonder to me that Dev was protective of his property. Dev has always been a person with very deep roots. His office space definitely was close to his heart and to give it away and have someone else's name in the space was a big blow to him. But, I felt that when he knew that it was Sonakshi who has taken it, he was somewhat ok with it! However, I was confused with his reaction on her spelling the name board in her name. I was not able to say whether he was upset that Sonakshi's sur name is not Dixit anymore or if it was more because of his name being replaced in the office space...

What surprised me beyond limits was Ishwari's reaction to the whole scenario. She was not bothered that her son's sentiments were shaken. She was not bothered that Vicky attempted to cheat and forge. She was not even bothered that the hard earned property of her son went out of hand. She was only bothered that Sonakshi was again coming closer to her son Dev!!! She even dared to put the blame on Sona instead of Vicky!! I could not comprehend the sort of woman that she is, leave alone a mother and I seriously feel that she needs medical intervention.

This time around, mama ji's advice to Ishwari was not impressive.. but we cannot blame him. Even he does not know the full story.

There was also one thing that bothered me a little this week.. And that was Sonakshi's attitude. However bad Dev behaved with Sona, she definitely knew that Dev was an honest businessman and she always respected Dev's hard earned success in life. I failed to understand why she was adamant in being in that office
😒 The only good reason I can think of is that, she wishes to be around and keep an eye on him, especially after seeing him around with other girls!!

Whether it was with Shruthi or Paro, Dev was quite charming and I am sure that Sonakshi wants to keep the other girls away from him!

-----

At the end of the week, I realized one thing about Dev and Sona - Like the horse with its bridle, their mind is set on only one thing ever since that dreadful night when they got separated..Even though they don't have a clear path, they keep making affirmations for themselves that "they can do it", keep taking that step forward and keep going straight...Even though they have a restless heart, they don't stop for the fear of falling down...The new song is very appropriate for this season 😊

I belong to the generation that is neither too conservative to ignore all of the spouse's mistakes nor too modern to walk away in a snap. Every time, I find myself (and rightly so) constantly questioning about the situation I am in, and coming to the conclusion that I have a beautiful life and a beautiful family. The relationships always end up being more important than the problems ❤️

My sincere hope is that Dev and Sona introspect their situation in the light of the next generation kids around and realize the beauty of the life and the shortness of the life and get back together without any delay. The process of this will be a treat to watch  ❤️😍
