Week 67 - Love ❤️❤️

Love is an unconditional commitment to a completely imperfect person. Its a decision we make, to accept a person in our heart with all his imperfections. All other emotions are conditional, except Love. Thats why when Love fails based on some conditions and exceptions, it ceases to exist. Love exists only in a heart which has no rule and no conditions.

Although the show is all about Love, I can call this week as the real essence of the "Love" of DevAkshi. Day after day, we witnessed the different facets of their Love. There cannot be a better week to analyze this topic of Love. ❤️

Love is Friendship

To be in Love is lot of fun..because we usually start off as friends first! Post leap, Dev and Sona have been in Friend zone for a while now. Although "friend" zone is much better than the "Mujhe farak nahi padtha" zone, Dev has been longing for a while now, to be out of this zone and become husband and wife again. In the "Payal" game, Sonakshi is just a friend... Dev used this to his advantage and instigated Sonakshi as much as possible with a "Buddy" touch!! "You are always a kid" by Sona was countered aptly with "Yes, I am.. a kid who needs a lot of Love" by Dev. It was so much fun for us to see this "non-gentle" man Dev :) There were a couple of "friendly" car scenes this week which made us all get some pain in our cheeks due to excessive grin.
😁

D: "May be got heated up... I mean.. car.. No?"

S: "I will know if its heated up"
D: "Ohh..then May be angry? It happens...No? then what else?"

S: "You traitor!"

D: "What?"
S: "I mean car.. its mine, and still it cheated me"

S: "Wait.. I know.. I can open the door myself.. Ok buddy!"

D: "Wow! you understood so quickly yaar"

Now that Shaheer and Erica are well into the skin of the characters, I could see that there are probably many many instantaneous improvisations..like Sona slamming the car door angrily.. or Dev giving Sona a gentle fist punch with a "Ok Buddy!" These two actors have excellent comic timing!! Who can forget the snake episode!! And this week, the first couple of days were pretty hilarious!! The "Buddy" touch went on for the second girl in line too..As time went by, the touch became stronger..or Sona became weaker in her knees?

By the way, Nisha, Jisha, Payal..whoever comes, I hope they all got a return ticket as well.. No-one can come between these two best friends Dev and Sonakshi!

There is a point in a relationship when Friendship turns to something much more intimate and then there is no covering up with the fancy word "Friend".. Dev and Sonakshi have been very passionate lovers from the beginning..How long can they stop themselves?

Love is Passion

There is a saying that "Do anything with Passion or Don't do it at all".. I would say that there are way too many mediocre things in this world which are done with half heart and Love is not one of them. Dev and Sonakshi are a couple with very deep love and their love for each other has always been very passionate and intimate.. For them, the average "We are also leading our daily life as usual" phrase does not suit. Every day is special for them as long as they are together. Because of the current situation that they are in, they went through a roller coaster of emotions this week, in spite of the fact that they are not couple now... And of all emotions, their passion for each other kept haunting them..

Who said romantic scenes have to be shown at the cost of a feeling of uneasiness for the audience? Shaheer and Erica share such a marvelous chemistry that they being together in a scene by itself has become a content day for the fans. And yet, who would not want to see some sizzling romantic scenes? Inspite of the "Buddy" zone they are in, Sonakshi could not stop herself from getting lost in the handsomeness of Dev. And Dev did not fail to notice it. "Everyone downstairs are having a shirt..and you haven't worn your wait yet?"..Oh well..it sounds better in  hindi :) You know which scene I mean :) Dev was irresistible for Sonakshi. I would still applaud her self control that moment, for not confessing how much she had missed him all these years.. As if the mesmerizing was not enough, Dev even attempted to adjust her hair behind her ears and adjusted her ear rings.. Sigh!! πŸ˜„πŸ˜❤️

Passion in Love should not die even after you have grand children. If you let it die, you will just become a walking and talking machine. For Dev and Sonakshi, every touch is familiar..every hold is ever so comfortable..every look is irresistible. Their passion for each other is not just alive..its strong, intense, mutual and irresistibly beautiful.

Would Sonakshi want to give up this special bond that she has with Dev to someone else? As a trailer..she got to witness Nisha in Dev's arms.. I won't wish anything bad for Nisha..let her have a good life.. but please...she does not look good in Dev's arms.. πŸ˜’

I am a Dev fan. No doubt.. But hey Dev, "how dare you try to wear that gajra on Nisha's hair?" You better be prepared with proper explanation to us, after everything falls in place with you and Sonakshi. Good job, Sona, for making sure the gajra doesn't reach Nisha's hair πŸ’ͺ🏼😏 Gajra is a special thing only between Dev and Sonakshi.❤️

Love is Understanding

Sonakshi understands Dev inside out. She knows his strengths and his weaknesses. Dev knows all about Sonakshi. This understanding has been there between this couple even many years ago. Who can forget the time when Sonakshi supported Dev when they had to cancel their honeymoon due to Neha's failed marriage. And Dev is no less. He completely hid the doctor report from Sonakshi, because he knew that she will take it upon her and even go to the extent of calling off the wedding.

And after so many years, their understanding of each other was still in tact. Sonakshi always knew about Dev's tricks and games. She found out pretty quickly that the whole Payal-boyfriend-reunion was a drama staged by Dev Dixit. Its not that Dev wouldn't have guessed that Sona will find it out... Because he knew her inside out as well.. Even though, they are not together anymore, ever since they have started to share the friendly equation, I think they themselves often forget that they are not a couple anymore, because of the immense understanding they have.. Though a very subtle and inconsequential scene, this feeling came through, when Nisha came back for her purse and Dev by default called Sonakshi to give it to her..

Ishwari was always proud that she understands her son more than anyone else. But this week, the changed mother gave credit to the wife that she understands him more.. Its not a miracle when a mother understands her child. The child has been with the mom ever since he/she first came into this world. So, there is nothing great in a Mom-Son's understanding. However, a wife is not related at all.. And yet, the degree of Understanding any loving couple share is definitely miraculous to me... ❤️

Love is Perseverance

We got to witness tremendous perseverance from Dev to somehow get back his lost love. After Sonakshi supposedly convinced Dev to marry some girl, Dev decided that he will somehow make Sonakshi realize that her love for Dev has not changed at all. When he decided that, he was ready to go to any extent to make this happen. And was doing all that he could do, to instigate her.. from cornering her in a friend zone, questioning her interference between him and Nisha, trying to recreate the gajra scene, taking her with him and his fiancΓ© everywhere.. and what not! He even got Suhana and Golu on his side to call Nisha as the new mamma!  πŸ˜„

Where there is Love, there will be perseverance. So, Dev's such actions did not surprise me. However, his opening up to his mother during several occasions this week, definitely surprised me. I really liked how he told Ishwari confidently that if he needs happiness in his life (which usually comes only as a guest to him), he has to take control of his life and attain whatever he needs. I also liked how he told Sonakshi and Ishwari, after the Payal breakup that however difficult the path is, he is not going to stop until he reaches his goal! My sincere wish is that, his perseverance should bear a fruit.. πŸ™πŸΌ

Love is Courage

My marriage is a classic 1990s love story. 1990 was the time when love stories had endings other than eloping or suicides. And mine was one such, that saw the light! It was not easy. Coming from a conservative family, I had never spoken a word against my dad. I didn't have the courage to ask permission to go for shopping or a movie with friends, even when I was in college. And yet, my marriage was an inter-community love marriage of the 90s..and that too, it  happened with the blessings of our parents. How was it possible? The answer is "Courage". If you want your love story to become a fairy tale, you gotta have a little courage..

But the "Courage" that Dev was talking about this week is not a simple one time "Courage". Remember how Dev asked Sona - "I am a complicated man.. Are you ready to take on this life with me?" Remember how Sona said "I will never leave you.. Even if you leave me, I will not leave you". The courage he spoke about was this - To carry on their life, with courage and not be fearful of what will happen when things don't work...

Sonakshi is probably afraid of having to face the same situation and get hurt the way she did 7 years ago. Sonakshi is probably afraid to express her love for Dev, because it had been extremely difficult to let go of him..and she cannot do it all over again. She is probably even more afraid that it will become difficult for Suhana now. She probably thought in the last 7 years that her love for Dev had long died and that she will never feel this way for him. And now she is scared that she feels this way. She is also scared of hurting her father.

However, if we need a rainbow, we must put up with rain. Dev being a complicated man is not a hidden fact. And she striving for perfection is also not a hidden fact. They signed up for this life, knowing all that. If their love is strong enough, it will get the courage to survive in every situation and not succumb to those situations. ❤️πŸ’

Love is Loyal

Need I even say that this couple is very loyal to each other? However, the people around them got a little bit of a jerk when Sonakshi convinced Dev to marry again and Dev went on in full speed to look at girls and finalize in a single meet up! They started questioning in their mind about the couple's loyalty. Ishwari banked on this quality of Love of "Loyalty", when she chose the plan of action of getting a 3rd person between them. She thought that if a 3rd person comes between them, they won't be able to resist their love for each other. But Dev's decisions to move on shook her a lot! Her discussion with Asha to somehow make Sonakshi take one step towards Dev was a very interesting one. Asha sticking to her principle of not interfering in Sonakshi's decisions only increased my respect for her. Ishwari is always an impulsive person.. After all, Dev's quality of impulsiveness is inherited from his mom. The mothers definitely knew that their children loved each other dearly which was why they could not accept that Dev was ready to marry another girl.

But I really hated Bijoy, for celebrating his daughter's hurt emotions.. well, he was technically celebrating that Dev was ready to leave Sona forever.. However, I don't know why he failed to see that Sonakshi is not happy about it. He never accepted that Sonakshi loved Dev.. thats why, he could never understand or acknowledge how Loyal her love is for Dev.. Hope he will realize this one day.

In another beautiful scene this week, Dev explained to Suhana that he will never marry anyone else. Kids may not understand the word "Loyal" yet.. But, they do understand the phrase "Ours and only ours". The makers have once again conceived it so nicely from Suhana's point of view.. Her explanation to Sonakshi that they won't like it if papa marries someone else was the crux of the "possessiveness" that Sonakshi felt.

In yet another beautiful scene, Dev himself told to a sleeping Sonakshi (Or may be she heard it all?) that he feels the same Love for her that he had always felt and begged her to stop him from getting engaged to another girl.. It was a very special scene for us because, Shaheer's husky voice and apt emotions elevated that scene to a different level πŸ˜²πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»❤️ πŸ˜„πŸ˜

Love is Forever

If there is one thing in this world for which we can use the word "Forever", then its only Love. The promises we make during the wedding, might be seen as a ceremonial exercise by some people. But the reality is that those promises are made with an intention of never ever breaking it. In one of the best scenes this week, Dev assertively told Sonakshi "Tum aakhri pal tak mere saath dhoongi" Even though she could technically take it as if he meant "till the wedding", she and all of us very well knew that he meant "Forever".

Couple who get divorced almost always have a reason of justification. Its probably valid in some cases too.. But if you ask me, I will only say that, if you were not sure, why did you get into the relationship? A neighbour of mine who has 2 beautiful daughters, got divorced and on her way out of our complex, she gave me a free advice.. She said "We women have to put up with so much of crap from these men.. you should never get stuck with such men".. I thought, she probably heard our (friendly) fights from my home (the walls in the apartments are very thin!! πŸ˜‚).. thats why she was advising me.. We are a very loud family.. We express our love also loudly πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I quietly replied to her "You are right.. but they are also putting up with our crap.. We usually give tit-for-tat right away in our home... And I don't plan on releasing him from my torture in the near future".. You are allowed to even shout or throw things at each other, if the situation warrants..πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ but never leave each other... because, if its not Forever, it cannot be Love. ❤️

Love hurts

Pain is a small word for the amount of torture Sonakshi went through this week.. or for that matter Dev as well. I am sure he did not enjoy holding Nisha's hands or buying flowers for Payal. Of all the facets of Love, this was the most prominent one this week. Whether it was having to hear Dev say "I like this girl and I am ok with having the engagement tomorrow" or having to hear Sonakshi say "I am sure, we will never be together again".. they both went through a lot of pain. This is on top of their growing passion for each other that they had to resist. Atleast for Dev, he was purposely doing everything to win Sona. But, for Sonakshi, her bottled up emotions refused to find a way out. It was a wonderful scene where Sonakshi looked at Dev watching her from his room. It was as though they were trying to tell each other, not to hurt.. πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ˜ž

Ishwari's question to Sonakshi whether Nisha was worth to be called "Mrs. Dev Dixit" probably hurt her the most... Even her mother Asha could not make Sona open up to her.. Sona's outburst to Bijoy, though impulsive, was a much needed one for her. As a father, he may forever feel the need to protect his daughter and may even justify that whatever he is doing is only for Sonakshi's happiness. But, a little acknowledgement of her pain would have made Sonakshi open up to him. Whether Bijoy likes it or not, its a fact that Dev is still the only one that can cheer her up and make her smile, inspite of his infinite imperfections... πŸ’”

Sonakshi's pain threshold is extremely high, which is why she is able to endure so much! I hope she lets go of her fears and expresses her unchanged love for Dev.

Love is Respect

Without Respect, Love is completely lost. πŸ˜’πŸ˜’ Just because you love someone and you value the relationship more than anything, it does not mean that you can allow the other person to disrespect you. Dev and Sonakhsi's life also drifted apart, because of this lack of respect for each other's feelings. In another beautifully conceived scene, Dev spoke to Ishwari about Sonakshi's journey from a nutritionist to a daughter-in-law in their home and why Sonakshi is unable to come back to them now... He rightly said that she stayed alone all these years..because of the pain they gave her. Its probably because of that.. And he even went on to tell Ishwari that it was probably because of her, that Sona is unable to come back to their home. Sonakshi only wanted to win everyone's heart in that home..but he explained to Ishwari how they defeated her in that pursuit. Dev realized that its been his trait to play games and treat family members like a pawn... And this time, he wants to respect her feelings and he wants her to come to him on her own accord, without anybody's force. Will that happen? We have to wait and watch.

This blog has already become lengthy I think.. It is so hard to pick few best scenes this week.. but let me try to make this list as short as I can..

1. The post Payal-breakup scene. It was Shaheer's yet another wonderful performance this week, when he went on to explain Love and how it becomes one's strength as well as weakness and how a Love story becomes a Fairy tale. Awesome voice modulation and excellent body language, apart from the apt chemistry between Dev and Sonakshi. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»❤️

2. The dialogue writers.. I don't know where to start and where to end. Whether it was a simple "Ok Buddy!" or a slightly complicated "Agar Fairy tales mein jeena hai tho..thoda himmat karni padegi.." it was a celebration of dialogues this whole week! Mama ji's comment that "Marriages don't happen between blood relation.." to Mami ji's wish "I should have married a monster" really cracked me up.. I was laughing long after the scene was over!! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

3. Dev's question to Sonakshi "Mera kya hoga Sonakshi...Mein tho akela reh gaya..Mujhe kab meri pasand ki ladki milegi?" was very touching and probably Dev tried to pour all his pain with that one dialogue.. πŸ˜’πŸ˜’

4. Sonakshi's outburst to Bijoy - though it was a short scene, I think it brought out almost all of Sona's pain.πŸ˜’πŸ˜’ Erica did an excellent job in that scene and in all her other scenes with Shaheer. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

5. Dev-Sonakshi's chemistry throughout this week made the audience go crazy! There were tons of poets on social media this week!! πŸ’

6. The kids added a very nice flavor to this week's episodes. The makers continue to do justice to "kids". I always loved the way they are handled in this show. This week will be one such, in which they don't cross any limits of the kid zone and continue to shine with their cuteness  πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜

7. I have probably already mentioned above.. but the scene that stood out for me from the last episode was when Dev expressed how perfect Sonakshi is, even with her short hair and stupid glasses and confessed to Sona once again in his low, firm voice.. that his love for her in unchanged πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»❤️

Dev has been very persistent and has proved to Sonakshi that they both still share the same passion, understanding, respect, and friendship. I think he has been successful in making Sona realize that all these feelings are mutual. Will Sonakshi be able to get over her fears and accept her love for Dev? Will she be able to face the life ahead with courage and confidence? We will have to wait and watch.

Week 66 - Head vs Heart

Our brain has no heart and our heart has no brain. Thats why, when we speak our mind, we seem heartless and when we listen to our heart and do what it says, we often look like an idiot. Our show's tag line itself is "What happens..when we give the brain, the job of our heart?" This week there was a constant battle between the head and heart of our lead characters. Although, this time also, its orchestrated by Ishwari, there is a subtle change this time - Ishwari is now using her heart to manipulate Dev and Sonakshi... not her head like the previous times.

There is one more reason for me to like this changed Ishwari - She has become a coffee person, like me!!! "Shall we have coffee?", "I need a cup of coffee", "Shall we meet at the coffee shop?" - these statements have more meaning than just having coffee.. It means that there is request for a conversation.. its a request for a friendly hand.. its a request to clear out confusion in our mind.. Ishwari has started to "give regard" to Sonakshi. She did not bombard Sonakshi with her thoughts..but wanted to have a genuine conversation with her, over a cup of coffee.  Sonakshi and Ishwari's conversation was precise and to the point. The damage Ishwari has made to Dev and Sonakshi's life is not erasable or pardonable. Any amount of Sorry will just not be enough.  The regret Ishwari showed in her face was honest and that honesty was the need of the hour. Last week, talking about how Ishwari's equation changed with everyone post the Khatri incident, we did not talk about Sona. This week started off with this change in equation between these two leading ladies of our show

"Whenever you did something good for the family, I always mistook it as if you are pointing out my incapability.. I mistook your strength, faith and dedication as ego. I failed to acknowledge that you will give respect to others without a hesitation, but will not tolerate if others challenge your self respect.  I looked at you as my competition.." - These words pretty much summarized Ishwari's mindset 7 years ago.  "You don't have to apologize aunty ji. None of us were ready for the relationship at that time.. I am glad that we are opening up now, we can start our relationship from here!" - This somewhat gave a closure to Dev's unsatisfied wish of "his mom and wife to be on the same page.."

7 years ago, Sona and Ishwari had a similar very warm conversation.. But at that time, Ishwari's main focus was to make Sonakshi feel good..because she had given Ishwari, the happiness of becoming a grandmother. I vividly remember how Ishwari praised Sonakshi for all the good things she did for the Dixit family. However, now, her main focus was highlighting her own mistakes and repenting for it.. When we are able to accept our mistakes to someone, then it means that we consider "that someone" as our own.. and have given a that person, a special place in our heart. The changed equation between Sona and Ishwari is this - Ishwari has given Sonakshi a place in her heart ❤️. This has nothing to do with a child or making Dev happy. The reason for this change is only that Ishwari is not intimidated by Sonakshi or her perfection anymore. Ishwari now feels secure and Sona's presence or absence does not control it.

They say, a happy home is filled with Love and Laughter. That night, Ishwari Niwas became a happy home with genuine love and laughter - Thanks to Dev's perseverance to embrace Sonakshi and her family with love and gratitude, to somehow reduce the distance between the two families.. to somehow fill his daughter's childhood with fond and beautiful memories and not with pain like his own.

That night, as the satisfied Dev and Sona went on with their lives, a new phase was planned for them by Ishwari - A phase in which she will orchestrate a game between their head and heart. I really liked that part where she looked at their wedding album, realizing the pain of Sonakshi and Dev. She was able to see that Sonakshi has stopped listening to her heart completely as Dev broke it to pieces 7 years ago. Ishwari was also able to acknowledge the fear that Sonakshi now has, to even accept that she has a heart that has some wishes too. And Ishwari finally, was able to see the pain of Dev as a "Lover" who loves Sonakshi deeply, but just holding his love within his heart, because he was scared of Sona's fears. And with this realization, she was determined to bring them together at any cost. πŸ’–πŸ’•❤️

The following day, I thought that Dev will resume work.. After all the Khatri drama and dinner..I thought Ishwari communications will also need some attention..But he disappointed me πŸ˜.. in fact later in the week when Ishwari asked Dev if he can take off from work, I was literally.. πŸ˜‚ May be being a boss, work will wait for him.. But Sonakshi was back to work! Girls are always sincere and a step ahead than their male counterparts! Probably thats why... Ishwari gave Sonakshi the responsibility of finding a suitable bride for Dev!

Sonakshi loves Dev. There is no doubt in our heart about that. In fact, she also knows it very clearly. But she cannot accept it. I tried calling this stubbornness as "ego". But somehow "Ego" seems a very harsh word to use on Dev or Sonakshi. It just doesn't suit them. Neither Dev nor Sona will be able to walk away when they know that one of them is in pain. Then how can we call it Ego? When Ishwari asked her to find a match for Dev, she immediately withdrew because her heart heard it first.. But then, her head jumped right in and told her heart that "All is well.. you go back to sleep. You are still sick. Let me handle this". Well... atleast her heart is not dead.. it can be revived soon, with proper care πŸ’

Dev loves Sonakshi. We have no doubt in this. He has no doubt in this and he has no problem in accepting this as well. However, he has promised Sona that he will never express this in a conscious or unconscious state, as it disturbs her. But when he was cornered with a marriage proposal by his mom, Sona and even his daughter.. what could he do? He was just devastated and lost in a world of no answers. The state of his heart was pretty bad and his head did not have any power left to think.

The conversation between Dev and Sonakshi, following Ishwari's master plan was one of the highlights this week. Sonakshi's "I am a strong girl" image became very transparent to Dev but yet he did not have the guts to go through it to reach her heart only for the fear of hurting it again. And therefore, he pretended to acknowledge Sonakshi's advice for getting married again. Some of the subtle dialogues were very soothing for the DevAkshi well-wishers..

Sona:  "Dev, tum itna selfish math bano..Maa ke bare mein socho"
Dev: "Tumhare baare mein kaun sochega?" ❤️😭

Dev: "Mein yeh sab nahi karne wala hoon"

Sona: "Kyoon?"
Dev: "Kyonki, mein woh jagah kisi aur ko nahi de saktha hoon..jo tume diya tha.." πŸ˜

All of these dialogues, tell us, how Dev tried to gently get into her heart.. only to be repelled by the fear of goofing up again.. A very well made scene πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Dev then accepted for the proposal and asked Sonakshi to promise that she will stay with him until the time he takes his wedding vows and then go away and never ever look back at him - At this point, the reality probably struck Sonakshi. All this while Dev and Sona have been piggybacking on Suhana, saying whatever they do, they do for her. But now, Suhana would like to see her dad married as well!! They don't have anywhere to hide and had to face this situation on their own as a couple or ex-couple.

For a while, I was wondering why a small child was made part of this game. Then I remembered an event that happened a couple of days ago for me. In the library that I volunteer for, a little 3rd grader came upto me and asked me if she can renew her book without having the actual book with her. It was the first time, that I am coming across a situation like that, so I called the librarian to help me with that in the computerized system. The girl, while she was waiting, in her anxiety of not being able to bring the book that day, told us "See.. my parents just got divorced. I am with my grandparents.. the book is in my mom's house and she is away on a business trip.. I cant get this until next week... is it ok?" - These words are from a 3rd grader really shocked and saddened me... Kids these days, have to face it! Its a cruel world out there. So, Suhana being part of it... does not surprise me anymore after remembering what happened in the library.. (by the way, we got that book renewed for her without a problem.)

Children come into this world with dreams of their own... who are we to destroy it? The parents probably had a very justified reason to get a divorce.. but whatever it was, either they should have worked it out or never went for a child, when they are unsure of their relationship... In a way, I am glad that Suhana at least did what she did with adult supervision (I mean her grandma..) and was told later that a lie is a lie and we need to confess to God. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ

Sonakshi burdened her mind with the reality of losing Dev. This strong girl has only one person, with whom she can pour her heart out - her mother. But in this case, she cannot open up even to Asha, because, 7 years ago, she buried all her real feelings deep inside her heart and built a fort of strength around it, through which nothing can penetrate. If she brought those feelings outside, then all that she built these past 7 years for herself and her family, will come crashing down. She knew that she cannot afford it and if she let it happen, it will become difficult for her to survive that storm.

Dev has a lifetime access to her heart, but even he cannot do anything to the strong fort she has built, after what happened 7 years ago.😒 He attempted though.. His call to Sonakshi to confirm the plan of going ahead with his marriage was one final attempt! His stiffness and her cool attitude were both  masked emotions. They both know that, but were too stubborn and scared to accept it. Their conversation on phone that night was a classic example of the conversation between their head and heart. Dev's questions were as if their heart spoke and Sonakshi's answers were as if the head spoke. ❤️πŸ‘€ Head decided "No looking back".. Heart followed the head cluelessly...

Usually, Dev is an open book. But this time, he was not. Time has taught him to conceal his heart. The person, who is used to thinking only with his heart, was left clueless in this situation. He was not getting any answers from his heart. A similar situation happened many years ago, when Sona was about to marry Ritvik... But at that time, Dev had the guts to confront the situation and his free pass to Sona's heart was still valid. But now, all his doors were closed. I felt very sad for Dev as he flipped through the album of girls lined up for him to get married to...😒😒

Mothers know the pain of their children however old their kids get. Asha was a very intuitive mother, from the beginning. And has always been there for Sonakshi, in whatever her decision was. She was quick in acknowledging Sonakshi's pain, but was unable to heal it as Sonakshi was determined to live in pain. But this time, Ishwari had opened the door for the Bose family.. So Asha, unlike the previous times, was able to talk to Ishwari. It was a very emotionally draining scene, because Asha gave Ishwari a sneak peek into Sonakshi's heart and the pain she had been enduring for the last 7 years. Asha, in simple words, said "Sona used to safeguard all of Dev's newspaper articles  and used to cry secretly whenever she saw Suhana.." But those simple words made me cry for Sonakshi...😒 Am sure the makers are quite skilled in getting into our hearts with simple yet profound dialogues and screenplay πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Now that Asha is also in team Ishwari, I am positive that GKB cannot do much. Bijoy cannot do much as well, even if he tried to get God on his side!

But in a twist of tale, Ishwari and all of us were surprised when Ishwari's plan backfired and Dev said yes to moving on and marrying someone else.. However, knowing Dev for the last 300 plus episodes, I was sure he had a plan in mind. Because of this confidence that I had in Dev, the scenes that came later on were quite enjoyable and funny πŸ˜„

With the New/Old avatar, Devrath Dixit was ready to sweep Sonakshi off the floors one more time!!  ❤️😍 We were all swept away as well πŸ˜πŸ˜

Dev: "Good morning! Ms.Bose"
Sona: "Thank you.. I mean...Same to you.. uhh....Good morning"
Reminded me of the time she told him "Mein biceps hoon..Aap Hot hai?" πŸ˜„❤️😍

Not just that, the entire meeting of Payal was quite enjoyable! It reminded me of the date with Natasha when Sonakshi was sitting with overwhelming jealousy!!  Except, this time Dev was purposely doing it :) There was even a scene of Payal touching Dev's hands like Natasha!! And Sonakshi fuming inside just like before!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Well.. I told myself, "No looking back" πŸ˜’

In a single date, Dev even finalized the girl!! But somehow Payal Dixit doesn't sound good.. So, she is rejected from my side. Apparently, Sonakshi and Ishwari are pretty confused with this quick decision!! Hmmm...

Some of the other lovely scenes tihis week:

1. Ishwari and mami's discussion over the photographs mami brought - it was so lovely to hear Ishwari explaining to mami about Dev's unmatched and irreplaceable love for Sonakshi!! πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

2. Soha and Golu's talk about new Big chi and Ex Big chi. Suhana knew the plan and Golu did not. So, Golu was trying be supportive to Suhana.. and this big brother's promise to his little sister was the cutest scene this week πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜

3. The discussion over Ballet dance and stacks was pretty hilarious! πŸ˜„πŸ˜‚

4. Shaheer and Erica have excellent chemistry - whether in comedy or romance or tiffs. Every scene they come together lights up the screen. I specifically enjoyed their conversation near the bike and also the restaurant sequence! πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»❤️

The worst battle that all of us have to fight is between what we know and what we feel. Lets wait and watch how Ishwari makes Dev and Sona's heart to talk to each other..😊

Week 65 - Destiny

Destiny is unknown to any of us. We can plan all we want, but if its our destiny to live a certain way, we cannot change it.. The Prophet once said "What has reached you, was never meant to miss you.. and what has missed you was never meant to reach you..." Somehow this seems a more appropriate topic of discussion this week in our show Kuch Rang Pyar ke aise bhi.

I must confess first that this blog took the longest time to complete, because.. I kept going back to see the part of the show I was writing about, so that I can get the dialogues right. And then, I ended up engrossed in the show every time, as if it was the first time.. Such an endearing set of episodes this week..

After Dev overheard maami asserting to Ishwari that her relationship with Sonakshi is just the same as before, he became very disturbed. When the week started on that note, I was disturbed myself. Why cant this woman Ishwari see the goodness of Sonakshi even now - even after Sona risked her own life with an evil person like Khatri just for the sake of Ishwari... But then, I also realized that it is not so easy to leave aside the bitter feelings you have accumulated against a person for so many years, just in return for a favor... However, this whole incident of Khatri definitely has brought changes to the equation between her and everyone else..

Ishwari - Dev

Ishwari's act of getting the Prenup signed without Dev's knowledge surely strained their relationship. And Dev was able to openly express his disappointments to Ishwari after that fateful night 7 years ago. All these 7 years had been nothing but hell for Dev and Ishwari. However, the arrival of Suhana in Dev's life mellowed him down and he was able to put aside all the bitter feelings he had for Ishwari and was able to genuinely share with her, his happiness of becoming a father.

Their relationship was already beginning to strengthen with Suhana around.. The Khatri incident has only helped to deepen this mother-son love. Ishwari always was worried that Khatri will be a big villain between her and Dev. But to her relief, this whole incident has ended up strengthening her bond with her son! The reason for this is not just Sonakshi. Even though Sona was instrumental in solving the issue, the biggest relief for Ishwari is that Dev, as a son, has never disappointed her at all! Even when he had to face the bitter truth that Ishwari stole jewelry in order to meet her financial needs, he did not lose any love or respect he had for her. The instant she realized this - her insecurities became completely invisible. There was no reason for her now to fear that Dev might one day, leave her behind.

This is a huge change in the equation between Dev and Ishwari. It was almost as if she freed Dev from the chain of possessiveness that was tightening him. For Dev, there is probably no change in the love he feels for his mom. But for Ishwari, this love is different from what she felt all these years. It was only because of this change, that she was able to acknowledge Dev's request to express their gratitude for Sona and her family by calling them over for dinner. Ishwari was not aware that the dinner will open up many more doors that she had shut down all these years..

I think, there cannot be a better way to resolve any relationship issues, than a dinner for the two families together. There is a saying that "All great changes begin at the dinner table"! πŸ˜Š

That night, she saw Dev with a new set of eyes and she realized that Dev's happiness is not just because of Suhana, but also Sonakshi. But Dev, in fact, did not even tell Ishwari directly anything about how he felt for Sonakshi. How was Ishwari able to recognize his happiness this time, while in the past, she was not able to understand it, even when he deliberately expressed it? The reason is very simple - that she broke the unnecessary bondage between her and Dev.

This is the Ishwari that Dev thought he will have when he told her years ago that he was in love with Sonakshi.  Now after so many years and so many tears, he was able to finally see the mom that Ishwari truly was. I enjoyed their conversation after maami was scolded by Ishwari. The clarity of thought in that conversation is something that I cannot appreciate enough. "Every person we meet in this life has a purpose that binds them with us... Sonakshi's purpose was to show Dev what Love was, when he was very very lonely. But Dev was unable to sustain that Love and he let her go.. But their destiny was such that they should meet again because of Suhana.. And Suhana showed Dev how to sustain Love and nourish it.." This open conversation further enhanced Ishwari and Dev's relationship. πŸ˜Š

It is Dev and Sonakshi's destiny that they should share this life. It is Suhana's destiny that she be born as this couple's dear child. And it is Ishwari's destiny that she get salvation to her sins through Sonakshi. In whatever direction fate might take us, we all have to reach the place we are destined for!

Ishwari-Maami ji

Because of the confidence, Ishwari now has with her relationship with Dev, she was even able to withstand the negative influence Maami ji was trying to force on her! This whole week, I got lot of thrills when maami got ignored/brushed away!! These thrills were much more interesting than even DevAkshi scenes.

As a human being, Ishwari is always someone that respects others, whoever they are. Her relationship with maami ji is always based on the regard that she has for her brother. As her brother's wife, she has, forever respected Radha Rani and given a lot of importance to her advices. With the new set of eyes, that Ishwari now has, she was able to clearly see right vs wrong and was able to stop Maami ji from overpowering her emotions.

I was reminded of this tale about Good and Evil. Once an old man told his grandson "son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil - it is anger, jealousy, resentment, ego, lies and inferiority.. The other is Good - it is joy, peace hope, kindness, humility, empathy, truth". The boy asked "Grandfather, which wolf wins?". The old man quietly replied "The one you feed". Our destiny is shaped by us. If we feed the Evil, we are sure to reap only grief and sorrow in the end. If we feed the Good, we can reap happiness and joy. The decision is ours! I think Ishwari is wise enough to make this decision now. πŸ˜Š

Ishwari, the woman - Dev's mom Ishwari

Even though these two roles are played by the same person, there is a subtle dual personality that is within this main character. And this week, we got to experience how one personality got separated from the other..

Ishwari's conversation with maama ji pretty much summarized the change that Ishwari was experiencing. This was probably the best scene this week. Again, the dialogue writers must be highly appreciated! "When I was just Ishwari, I could see the goodness of Sona.. now also am able to see how good she is.. But when I looked at her 7 years ago, as Dev's mom, I somehow failed to notice all her goodness.. and was too unfair with her.. I had a feeling of fear about something.. about how my child will leave my hand and hold on to Sonakshi's instead.." - This realization in Ishwari is only due to the fact that she let go of the chain binding her and Dev. She was able to see how her son is much more mature than her and she understood that "maturity" does not come by just counting our years and growing old...

Another interesting part this week in this aspect, was the way she defended Sonakshi in front of the new family that maami ji brought out of nowhere! I think, Ishwari surprised herself with her assertiveness in answering Maami and the supposedly prospective "bride" of Dev! There was a huge clarity of thought in Ishwari's choice of words! She did not hesitate even a bit to take Sona's side and highlight her talent and responsibility in bringing up Suhana, single handedly. Just a few weeks ago, we saw how Ishwari criticized Suhana's "perfectness"! But the realization that she is experiencing now, allowed her to appreciate Sonakshi.

When Ishwari was able to clearly see the difference between her own two personalities, she was able to adore DevAkshi, just like us!! Ishwari saw Dev and Sonakshi looking into each other's eyes with love and Dev helping with Sona's hurt feet. The old Ishwari would have probably walked away and would have muttered to maama ji "uski paas Dev hai" (Remember the time when Dev was applying medicine to Sona's feet during Diwali?") But this new and reformed Ishwari was able to look at them and even long for them to be together again! The family selfie was another wonderful scene! The way Ishwari looked at Sonakshi with affection was worth a million dollars! πŸ˜„

They say when you wish for something with all your heart, then the Universe conspires to make it happen! If Ishwari truly wishes for Dev and Sonakshi to be together, won't the Universe help her? Wont their destiny bring them together? ❤️

Ishwari-Bose family

In Bose family, there is friendship. The person is more important than their relationship! Which is the exact opposite of the Dixit family. Here, the relationships have always been important. Its because of that, a person like Vicky was given a role to play in the Ishwari communications. He being Ishwari's brother's son was the only qualification he had! Its only because of the importance given to relationships, was maami able to make Ishwari dance to her tunes. And this was the reason why Sonakshi was never seen beyond being "Dev's wife". Sonakshi's goodness as a human being was never even noticed by any of them. Her individuality was never given any importance.

Bijoy's one sentence gave this clarity to Ishwari "Kabhi kabhi hume lagta hai ki Saurabh hamara damaad hai our Ronita humari beti" It was because of the "friendship" that was shared in the Bose house that they were able to look at Ronita as their own daughter. Honestly, Ronita will also say that Bijoy and Asha are her parents more than in-laws...

Now, Ishwari will be able to clearly understand the reasoning behind Dev calling Asha as "Maa".  These are not things that Dev or anyone else can explain to her...This has to be a self realization process..And the makers have done a great job in portraying it as a "self realization" instead of someone advising her.. πŸ˜Š

-----

Talking about makers doing a great job, I must say that the lead couple are going through a very pleasant change themselves..What started off as a Boss-Employee relation, changed to friends, lovers, husband-wife and later drifted apart, lost in emptiness.

Their equation in this new phase, started to change a couple of weeks ago. And right now, they are in the beautiful stage of "Best friends" once again πŸ˜Š

Sonakshi has been a very balanced person from the beginning. More importantly, she is not someone, who will talk ill about a person behind their back. So, when Dev told Sonakshi that Ishwari took the medicines as soon as Sona left the room, without any hesitation, she defended Ishwari and tried to look at it from her POV and told Dev how difficult it will be for Ishwari and even her own dad to forget the past in a short time like this...Dev, on the other hand, is a business man. "Strategic planning" comes naturally to him.  He constantly looks for solutions to problems and I am sure, even though he looked convinced at Sonakshi's answer, he was only thinking of how to resolve the coldness that Ishwari and Bijoy still feel. The dinner plan for the two families, was his strategic solution..

There is that issue in his mind, and then there is also a constant need to correct things between him and Sonakshi. His guilt quotient is pretty high and he is unable to express it all in one shot.. In this phase, every conversation between Dev and Sona is very pleasant and they both put a lot of effort in acknowledging that things are not the same between them. Caring for each other comes naturally to them and to underplay their emotions is a conscious effort for both of them. This phase is also beautiful because of the secret admiration and subtle expressions and the sweet care and belonging...❤️πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

-----

Some really wonderful moments this week are..

1. When Dev was mesmerized by Sona's beauty in the Bose house, as she was getting ready for the day. The background dialogues elevated the beauty of this scene - "When I see you, time stops and even my brain stops working for sometime.. Why do you confuse me? Why are you so perfect Ms.Bose?" πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜

2. When, later in the week Sonakshi expressed how much she missed him in the last 7 years by a simple statement she said in the Dixit house garden.. "I tried to make a similar garden in Kolkata..but it wasn't quite like this.. 'cos there was no one to share it with me..." The dialogue writers have a very key role to play in this show! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

3. The Video conversation between Dev and Sona, of course reminded us of the many past video calls, especially the one with the trimmer. It was magical because, there is still that need to look "presentable" for Dev in front of Sona... And that need for Sonakshi to dress well before meeting Dev! ❤️

4. Their scenes, when the light went off in the Dixit house also brought back many old memories! ❤️😘

5. Ishwari's conversation with maama, maami, bijoy and asha were all very important for the story to move forward. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

6. Lastly, Sonakshi teasing Dev for his hair and goonda look was perfect!! It totally echoed all the fans. I like Shaheer however he is. Clean shaven look and trimmed hair will soon come, I am sure.. Now that Sonakshi has expressed it, Dev will make it happen! πŸ˜„

There is a lot of discussion that Ishwari's redemption is too soon and too easy..and a lot of speculation that Ishwari might not have felt the same way if Suhana was not born. Ishwari's realization is due to the fact that Sona was ready to go to any extreme to save Ishwari from Khatri's clutches and Dev will never let go of Ishwari under any circumstance. Suhana was not even in the picture of Ishwari's change and therefore Suhana's presence or absence will not have impacted the change Ishwari feels towards Sonakshi.. I feel that the reaslisation is also not rushed. Its a series of events and thoughts that are contributing to this change. Obviously, we are going to experience lot of resistance from maami ji and even Bijoy probably, in the coming weeks. We will also get to see Ishwari's heartfelt conversation with Sonakshi soon. The question will now be, how strong is Ishwari... how much can she sustain the negative influences that surround her.. and how much is she willing to adjust, in order to see Sona and her family as her own..😊

The change in Ishwari, according to the recent promo, is going to motivate her to bring Dev and Sona together. But the main difference will now be that Ishwari will not look at Sonakshi as a toy to satisfy her son's needs. She will now be able to look at Sonakshi as a woman, as a human being, as a mother and as a girl that her dear son is in love with, head over heels.πŸ’‘

Fate separated Dev and Sonakshi that unfortunate night... But if their destiny is to live together happily forever - then who can stop it? ❤️

Week 64 - Pillars of strength

Family values are the main focus of this show. In a family, there are all sorts of people, the strong, the weak, the short tempered, the wise, the elderly and the young. For every person in the family, there is one other person who is a pillar of strength.  In fact, a family is a circle of strength.. Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger! This week in our show, it was all about the pillars of the Dixit home that had become shaky due to a crisis - Dev and Ishwari.

Summary:

Khatri has been blackmailing Ishwari all these years and Dev is shattered when he came to know that his mom had stolen in order to make the ends meet during the financially challenging days of his childhood. He is even more shattered when he heard first hand from the family itself about what they lost because of the robbery. He is unable to even look at his mom in her eyes and talk to her. Sonakshi becomes a huge support for him, in facing this situation. Ishwari is devastated to find that Dev knows all about it and even Sonakshi knows. She suffers a cardiac arrest and is admitted in the hospital. The Bose family is shocked to hear this. But Bijoy is not keen on going to the hospital and is criticized by everyone in his family for being so insensitive. The doctor later confirms that Ishwari is stable. In the meantime, Sonakshi finds out that Khatri is the actual thief who had stolen a majority of the portion of jewelry and traps him intelligently. This is a major relief for Ishwari and she is now able to see Sonakshi beyond the relationship that she shares with Dev.

The part where the female protagonist is shown in the light of being the strongest and perfect is probably very TV-serial type clichΓ©. That aside, it was a truly enjoyable show this week, mainly because of the excellent execution of the characters Ishwari, Dev, and Sonakshi played by Supriya, Shaheer and Erica. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Ishwari Dixit - the woman whose secrets were exposed to "everyone"

There is a permanent hatred among the fans, for this woman because she was the main reason behind our DevAkshi separation. And I will not question that hatred, because I myself did not enjoy any of the things she said or did against that relationship. In fact, I am still angry about the way she addressed Sonakshi as "baharwali" even minutes before suffering from that cardiac arrest. In the past I will always go into a loop of thoughts trying to find why she is so possessive of her son. But after watching this week's episode and hearing her own criticism about her, I am able to somewhat see her reasoning behind her behavior, even though I cant forgive her.

Ishwari suddenly got a call and she realized that on the other end was this woman, whose jewelry she stole several years ago, and has ever since, not able to meet her even once (inspite of constantly trying). She broke down instantaneously out of relief that she finally found her. She was extremely apologetic for what she did years ago, with immense hope that the lady might forgive her. But on knowing that the family was devastated because of her robbery, and that her crime is now beyond any redemption, Ishwari was crushed with shame and sorrow. Only an experienced actor like Supriya Pilgaonkar can carry out such a scene with ease. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»❤️❤️ Please keep in mind that the person to whom she is talking to is not even in front of her and probably not on phone either...During that time, along with all the other truths that were hidden in her deepest conscience, she also confessed that she is greedy for her son's love and therefore she could not let herself be projected as a thief in front of him. Its probably this shortfall of hers that made her insecure and constantly "possess" her son.

For the next few hours, Ishwari had to live in the dark speculating how her dear son's response would be..and it was probably the longest couple of hours for her. One part of her told her that Dev would completely disown her and hate her. The other part told her that he would forgive her and hold her in his heart as always. Once again two thumbs up for this veteran actor!πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

When she finally had to come face to face with her son, she could not even look at him and had to put her head down in humiliation. Even though she openly confessed in front of everyone about her crime, and even though she tried to explain that she is very sorry for whatever she did, her only wish that time was to hear that her son has forgiven her.. She collapsed unsure of what was going on in his mind. Ishwari is the pillar of the Dixit family. She is Dev's strength and when she succumbed to the situation that they were in, Dev also lost his power.

For Ishwari, only Dev matters.  His one word means the whole world to her. It was always this way and it will be this way forever. When she finally woke up in the hospital, this was the first and foremost in her mind..what does Dev think of her? What Dev said in reply, is not new to us or her. Dev is like that. For him, his mother means a lot. As he said, she has the right to love him, to scold him..but never can she apologize to him... It was a big relief for her.

When she saw the family that she was desperate to meet all these years, she was ready to take their curses and was ready to do anything that might reduce their loss.. but was shocked and dumbfounded when she knew that after all, her stealing the 2 bangles did not bring their family to the streets... Infact it was Khatri who had stolen the majority of the portion. And that this truth was revealed by Sonakshi - the woman, who Ishwari thought was a danger in her life all along. This part might seem very filmy - but the fact is that Ishwari was never projected as an "evil". She was against Dev-Sona relationship, which makes her a villain. But she was never shown as an evil person. Infact, she has always been naive and easily manipulated by GKB! That being said, I could overlook the "filmy" angle to it.

This pillar of the Dixit family regained her confidence and strength now, thanks to Sonakshi πŸ˜Š

When Ishwari thanked Sonakshi, it looked heartfelt to me. This time, the way she spoke to her seemed like she was able to see Sonakshi's goodness beyond all the hard feelings she had for her all these years. The way she hugged her and kissed her hands seemed to me that Ishwari has embraced Sonakshi into her life and her family.. The way she spoke to Asha seemed to me that she was atleast trying to forget her past bitterness with the family. The way she told GKB that Sonakshi was a good person seemed to me that she means it..

However, it also very soon occurred to me (thanks to GKB looking at the untouched glass of water, and Ishwari taking the medicine as soon as Sona left the room) that she probably did not accept Sonakshi with all her heart. And that there is still some hesitation...

But inspite of this, I somehow strongly have a feeling that Ishwari is wiser now and is handling GKB in her own way to protect Dev and Sona. It is now clear to her that Sonakshi has not entered their lives to snatch Dev away from her. If that was her intention, then this was a perfect timing for Sona to take advantage.. It is clear to Ishwari that Dev will not let go of her hand under any circumstance...If he was like that, then there cannot be a more convincing reason for it, than now. Isn't this enough for Ishwari to become a pillar of strength for both Dev and Sonakshi? πŸ€”πŸ€”

Dev Dixit - the man who was literally dying out of guilt which is beyond any consolation

When Dev saw that Khatri was instigating that family against his mom, he was not able to control his anger and rightly so! Who can be quiet and composed when your mom is being insulted? Thanks to Sonakshi, his anger was kept under control.  She reminded him that they have come there to reduce the guilt of his mom.. not to beat up Khatri. But, if they had known at that time, that Khatri was the one who had taken all the jewelry and put the blame on Ishwari - then what Dev tried to do was probably the right thing to do! A man like Khatri shouldn't be spared... πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ’ͺ🏼πŸ’ͺ🏼

When Dev confronted that family and begged for their forgiveness - I must say that I cried a lot. Shaheer, the actor is not just acting out a set of dialogues given to him. He is someone that lives the character ❤️❤️. And therefore, the emotions that come during the execution is extremely natural πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ». As he went on to hear his mom talk to the family.. and confess profusely for all her sins, Dev Dixit, the other pillar of the Dixit family also broke down. It was an immensely emotional scene, handled extremely well by Shaheer and aptly supported by Erica.πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

When Dev walked away from that place heartbroken and guilt-sticken for all the crime that his mom did for that family, I was only wondering how Dev will ever come out of such a profound guilt.. Dev has always been someone, who cant keep much in his heart except the "sadness".  Everything else, he expresses very clearly to the person that its intended for - Love, anger, care all of these are easily expressed by him. But most often, I have seen him suffer in the sadness of his heart all alone. This one was too much for a person to handle and Sonakshi was just what he needed at that time. All of the flashbacks that played in his mind were all telling him how much he respected his mom and was pushing him more into the guilt zone for finding his mother in a situation like that.

Not just in that scene, but Shaheer did exceedingly well also in the subsequent scenes ❤️❤️ - when he came in Ishwari's imagination as the forgiving and unforgiving son and later when he came home but found it very difficult to see his mom and meet her in her eyes. In the past there were a few times he was unhappy with his mom - all in matters related to Sonakshi. Even though he expressed his disappointment on her during those situations, he never found it difficult to face her. This was the first time, he ever felt like this and therefore he was visibly shaken.

However, nothing can reduce his love for his mother...And that is the Dev Dixit that we and Sonakshi fell in love with.

I thought Dev was shaken enough and there is nothing that could make him more sad.. But when Ishwari collapsed and he feared for her life, he became even more sad. In this context, even though its incorrect to say that it was a treat to watch Shaheer, I must confess that his screen presence in highly emotional scenes elevates the scene and its content to a much higher level than its intended at. ❤️πŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

We have seen Dev bow down in front of God, when he wanted his dear Sonakshi to become a mom.. not for his own selfish needs, but for her sake and her happiness. But this one was even more sincere and he surrendered himself completely to the almighty begging for his mom's life. It was a good touch that Sonakshi overheard him talking to God and hearing all about his conversation with Him for Sona's sake, 8 years ago. The guilt from his mom's crime, the helplessness from her illness, and the fact that he never expressed his feelings to his mom was all totally drowning him! Sonakshi was all that he had in that moment of utmost despair. And Sonakshi supported this pillar of the Dixit family with all her might.πŸ’ͺ🏼πŸ’ͺ🏼

There were not that many dialogues for him after his mom recovered. But who needs dialogues, when Shaheer is the actor! His sigh of relief, his gratitude to Sonakshi, his pride when his mom appreciated Sonakshi and hugged her, were all neatly done by our superhero πŸ˜Š❤️

Sonakshi - the woman who supports the "pillars" of "her family" with all her strength

She loves Dev very dearly. She respects Ishwari. Period. She knows both their weaknesses and strengths. She is the only person that understands what they mean to each other better than they themselves. And above all she is a person with a good heart and a clean upbringing. When there is a girl with these qualities on their side, then any harm that is aimed at them has to bow down and move away. Nothing can harm them.

Whats great about Erica is her underplayed emotions. All TV serials these days have their woman protagonist shed unmeasurable amount of tears and have them talk in high pitched emotional voice. Erica is a change from those stereo types. The character itself demands her to be like that. And she has done full justice to it. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Dev Dixit, the otherwise smart, bold, intelligent, go getter of the family, needs a lot of guidance and hand holding when it comes to dealing with the women in his life. I am pretty sure all men are like that. Sonakshi is the only one, that can control his impulsiveness, channelize his anger and love in the right direction. Even after so many years of separation, she has retained this strength. She supported him in every step that night in getting the whole thing under control.

We all keep saying that Sonakshi never expresses that she loves Dev. She never tells him that she needs him. I have also told many times that as much as Dev expresses his love to Sonakshi, she never says much to him. However, I realized this week that her way of expressing her deep love for Dev is by being there for him and his family and emotionally supporting him.

According to her, he is - spineless, mamma's boy, very rude, can never take any decision on his own... However, inspite of all that, why is she doing so much for him? Why is she going back to him and Ishwari again and again and again, inspite of knowing that they will not give her importance. She knows that Ishwari does not like them both to come together at all and probably will never approve of it 100%. Then, why does she even try to heal the pain and discomfort that has now come between this mom and son? She knows that when its a question of choosing between her and his mom, Dev is always going to favor his mom and she is only going to be number 2. Then, why does she stand there and adore the way Dev was taking care of his mom? She knows that Ishwari will forever treat her as an outsider. Why does she go and fall for them again and again and yet again as if its her own family? The answer to all this - is that she loves Dev immensely and his family is very very dear to her. Just like how Dev keeps on telling Sonakshi that he needs her and loves her.. this is her way of expressing her love - by emotionally being there for him and his family in a time of need.❤️❤️❤️πŸ’‘πŸ’‘

But she is also a human being and also loses her ground. And during that time, only her mother can come to her rescue. Asha is the perfect mother that a girl like Sonakshi needs - She gives Sona all the freedom that she needs, without questioning or influencing her. But, if Sona ever breaks down, she rushes to give her shoulders... Asha is Sonakshi's pillar of strength. And yet, Asha did not attempt to interfere in the Dixit family problems.. And Sona was not keen on sharing that with her as well.. Good touch yet again on family values

I really want to be like Asha when I grow a bit older. She is such a tremendous goal for all mothers out there! Not just mothers..She is also an extra ordinary wife goal! How assertively she spoke to her husband and pointed out his mistake to him..

The main protagonists have a grey side to them and the "so-called" antagonists have a positive side to them and thats the beauty of this show - that no one is perfect. However cruel, Bijoy is towards Dev and Sonakshi's relationship, he cannot be an evil person that takes advantages of someone's bad time (like the evil Vicky). Asha and dadi's' timely reminder to Bijoy was a good touch this week. I am hoping for a more composed and considerate Bijoy in the coming weeks.

The other tracks this week:

GKB-Vicky - It was a welcome relief to know that GKB considers only Sonakshi as her enemy and not Dev or Ishwari! However, she is banking on Ishwari's naivity to manipulate Sona and Dev's relation... This time, it seems to me that GKB's lentils are not going to cook in Ishwari's stove
πŸ€“πŸ€“

Asha-Dadi-Bijoy - This trio has a bond. Bijoy's insensitive behavior towards the Dixit family's difficult time was rightly criticized by the wise women. It was a relief to see Bijoy trying to amend his mistake and trying to be a responsible man of the house. For a moment, I felt, If only the equation between the 2 homes were good, Bijoy could be great support to the Dixit family, especially to Dev who does not have a father to look up to and to lean on and to get a wise advice in an hour of need.

The Kids - 100 points to the makers for keeping the kids as kids πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ». Golu is the cutest kid in town and when he is on screen, I even forget about DevAkshi reunion. The way he claimed his share of contribution in coloring Ishwari's card and the way he said he needs to spend some quality boy's time with Big cha was toooooooo cute πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜„

And Please, lets not forget Eleena. The society always under estimates the mom that stays home and watches kids. Its not an easy job. So three cheers to Eleena, for baby sitting the kids while the rest of the folks were in hospital.πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

High scores this week:

1. Shaheer's pitch perfect emotional downpour throughout the week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
2. Supriya's effortless expression of her deep trauma ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3. Erica's portrayal of the strong woman Sonakshi is very convincing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
4. Khatri - this villain will be in my favorite villains list. His style is really awesome! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It seems to me that Dev overheard Ishwari and GKB's conversation. It also seems to me that there will be some change in Ishwari. But I don't want Dev and Sonakshi to get together for Soha or Ishwari or Asha or Bijoy..I want them to get together again for themselves. I want them to be in love for the rest of their lives genuinely.. not out of any compulsion. Let them not succumb to interferences and compulsions. Let their Love win. ❤️❤️
